Corn is a cereal that is rich in vitamins, amino acids, iron and silicon. It is not for nothing that corn porridge is a national dish of many peoples. Each country has its own way of preparing this healthy dish. Only the main stages of preparation are identical.
The introduction of complementary foods for an infant is a crucial moment. There are many tips for a suitable diet for your baby. Each parent chooses for himself whether to buy canned food or cook at home on his own. You can grind cereals for porridge in a coffee grinder, or you can buy ready-made infant formula, which is filled with milk or water according to the recipe on the package.
Finely ground corn grits do not require any special preparations before starting cooking. The main thing is to master the correct sequence of the main stages. corn porridge takes a long time to cook. To save time, soak the cereal in cold water overnight. The ratio of water and cereals is 2: 1.
Corn porridge for children with fruit
To prepare delicious porridge, you will need: – ½ cup dry cereal; – 1 glass of cold water; – 1 glass of milk; – 50 g butter. Both fresh fruits and dried fruits go well with corn grits. As additional ingredients, you can use dried apricots, raisins, fresh bananas. Before adding these ingredients to the porridge, the dried apricots must be washed and soaked, the raisins must be sorted out, rinsed and dried. Steamed dried apricots need to be chopped with a knife, and fresh banana cut into cubes.
The specified amount of the main ingredients will require: – 100 g of dried apricots or raisins; – 1 banana. Cooking baby corn porridge should take 15–20 minutes. Take a saucepan, put the cereals into it and cover with milk. In a quarter of an hour, the cereal will turn into a thick porridge. Stir while cooking. After that, pieces of dried apricots, raisins or banana – the products that you have chosen as an additional component – should be put into the porridge. Add butter with dried fruits. Remove the pot of porridge from the heat, wrap it up or put it in the oven over low heat – up to 100 ° C. In the oven, the porridge will steame, it will turn out delicious, aromatic.
To prevent the groats from burning during cooking, choose dishes with a thick bottom. Do not forget to stir constantly.
Corn porridge with vegetables
Pumpkin can be added as additional ingredients to corn porridge. Peel the vegetable from pulp, seeds and peel. Cut the remaining hard part of the fruit into small cubes. Sprinkle them with sugar and transfer to a preheated dry skillet. Turn off the heat as soon as the pumpkin runs out of juice. You will have a sweet corn porridge dressing.
Combine the pumpkin with cereals at the beginning of cooking. Remove the pan from the heat as soon as the cereal thickens. Pumpkin porridge can also be brought in the oven or wrapped in a warm blanket. It is better to add ghee, not butter, to corn porridge with pumpkin.
