Coffee peeling – a homemade way to firm up!
Coffee peeling – a homemade way to firm up!

Coffee is not only a wonderful drink that stimulates action just before going to work – it can also become a way to gain beautiful and smooth skin. The caffeine contained in it makes it possible to help even in the fight against troublesome cellulite. What are the properties of coffee peeling and how to do it?

Caffeine is an alkaloid, i.e. a plant biologically active ingredient. A group of such substances has a beneficial effect on the condition and functioning of the skin. So there is a chance that it will have a positive effect on the fight against cellulite, because it promotes lipolysis, which consists in the breakdown and excretion of adipose tissue. In addition, it supports the excretion of toxins, revitalization and regeneration, as well as oxygenation of skin cells. Coffee scrub has many great properties:

  • Improves skin tone,
  • Exfoliates the epidermis, smoothes and firms,
  • Stimulates blood circulation,
  • Stimulates and improves well-being thanks to its intense fragrance,
  • Activates cell renewal.

Whether it will bring results in the fight against orange peel, however, depends on many factors.

  1. On how you care for your skin – whether you use additional slimming cosmetics, perform appropriate massages (e.g. with Chinese cupping), and avoid factors that increase the formation of cellulite.
  2. Do you lead a healthy lifestyle – you are physically active, maintaining a healthy weight and a balanced diet. Only in this case, the activation of liposuction will work on the excretion of adipose tissue. So if you do not introduce movement and a healthy diet into your lifestyle, you may only notice smoothing of the skin as a result of using the coffee scrub, and the cellulite itself will remain untouched.
  3. What stage is your cellulite in – in the early stages of orange peel development, the chance of elimination with caffeine is huge. Sometimes even the folds on the skin are not really the result of cellulite, but only the sagging of the skin.

Three ways to make a coffee scrub:

The base for each method is brewed, ground coffee. Pour half a cup of coffee into a bowl, pour boiling water over it. After ten minutes, pour off the excess water. You can add various ingredients to the prepared mush: shower gel, oil, baby oil, olive oil, ginger, salt, cinnamon. Use it in the shower, massaging the skin in circular motions. Repeat the activity preferably twice a week. To intensify the effect of the coffee, hold it on the legs in more cellulite-affected areas for about 20 minutes – wrap them with cling film to retain heat and help the mixture work.

  • Two or three tablespoons of olive oil poured into the paste will both exfoliate and lubricate the skin, thanks to which you will moisturize and firm the skin.
  • Adding two tablespoons of brown sugar to your coffee will enhance its abrasive effect. It is not suitable for sensitive and couperose skin, but it will be perfect for calloused skin that needs intensive exfoliation.
  • Combining it with a few teaspoons of oatmeal will make you gently exfoliate, refresh and nourish your skin at the same time.
