Choosing and decorating a Christmas tree

The main Christmas decoration in the house was and remains a live spruce. Therefore, its choice should be approached in detail. Pay special attention to the trunk. It should not have any dark spots, traces of mold or mildew. But the drops of resin indicate that the tree is in the prime of life. Take the tree by the trunk and shake it well. If the needles have fallen off, you should not take it home.

Ideally, the Christmas tree is installed in a crosspiece with securely screwed bolts. If it is not there, you can build a stable foundation from improvised means. Take a large iron bucket, put in it a few two-liter plastic bottles with water necks down. In the bucket itself, also pour water. The bottles should fit snugly together, but in such a way that the barrel can be fixed firmly between them. Drape the base with an elegant fabric or a special skirt for the Christmas tree.

In addition to traditional balloons and tinsel, you can hang edible toys on the Christmas tree, such as marzipan figurines. Grind 200 g of peeled almonds into a crumb and combine with 200 g of sugar, sprinkle with a couple of drops of Dr. Oetker Almond flavor. Separately, beat 2 raw whites with 1 tbsp lemon juice in strong peaks with a mixer. Mix both masses, then divide into 3-4 parts and add colorful food colors to each. From such a marzipan “plasticine” with the help of figurative forms, it is easy to mold funny little animals and fairy-tale characters. You can effectively decorate them with sweet gold pearls of Dr. Oetker. Slightly drown them in the finished figures, until they have time to freeze, and at the top make holes and put bright ribbons in them. The original Christmas tree decoration is ready!
