The color of the leaves is different for each variety. There are deep or pale purple hues, with light or dark streaks. With a lack of lighting, the petals have a green color.

With proper care, purple oxalis blooms

This variety is called “Butterfly Flower”, because with the onset of dusk, the leaves fold and resemble a butterfly. They return to their original position in good lighting.

Flowering begins in early summer and lasts until September. The flowers are white, pink or lilac. They are collected in inflorescences in the form of umbrellas.

After purchasing a flower from the store, transplant it into a new pot within 2-3 days. To avoid damaging the root system, use the earthen ball transfer method. Choose a pot 2-3 cm freer than the previous one. Lay a layer of 5 cm of broken brick at the bottom, fill the container to the top with soil for indoor flowering plants or with your own prepared soil. Mix earth, humus, peat and sand in a 1: 1: 3: 1 ratio.

The flower needs to be transplanted as the root system grows, mainly every 2-3 years.

Caring for acidic acid is as follows:

  • The flower loves the sun, so place it on a sunny windowsill. To prevent it from getting burned, shade at lunchtime in the summer.
  • The correct temperature regime is important for acid. During the period of active growth, maintain the air temperature at 20-25˚С, and during the rest period – 10-18˚С.
  • Loosen the potting soil regularly.
  • Water as the soil dries. Oxalis does not need abundant watering, pour a little liquid or spray the plant with a spray bottle. Waterlogging of the soil will lead to root rot and fungal diseases.
  • During the period of active growth and flowering, feed the acid plant with liquid mineral fertilizers. Do this every 2-3 weeks.

The plant rarely gets sick, but if it begins to lose leaves, then cut them all off. In a month, new ones will grow.

Kislitsa brings happiness to the house. It can be presented for a birthday or other holiday to a loved one as a talisman.
