Body hair: how to remove permanently

Body hair: how to remove permanently

Modern fashion assumes the smoothness of the skin of the body and the absence of excess hair on it. In response, cosmetology provides several methods for removing unnecessary vegetation, differing in the degree of effect on the hair and in the long-term effect.

Shaving off excess body hair is the easiest and most affordable way to make your skin smoother. Shaving takes a little time and at the same time gives a guaranteed smoothness effect on the body.

A significant disadvantage of this method is its short duration – you will have to shave your shins, for example, you will have to shave every other day, or even every day, depending on the speed and intensity of hair growth.

To remove hair using this method, you will need:

  • Shaver
  • shaving cream or gel
  • after shave moisturizer

Consider your razor carefully. A special female one is best suited, its wider handle does not slip in the hand, and the blades are better adapted to the curves of the body.

Shaving your hair is best after taking a bath or shower. Apply shaving cream to your skin and remove hair against the direction of hair growth. Then rinse the lather with your hair. If you have sensitive or dry skin, apply moisturizer after treatment. Try to avoid alcohol-based aftershave lotions as they can irritate if you cut yourself. Lubricate an accidental cut with hydrogen peroxide.

Special creams will help to painlessly remove unnecessary hairs. After treatment, the skin remains smooth for 1–2 weeks.

You will need:

  • depilatory cream
  • spatula for its application

Do not skimp on a depilatory cream: a poor-quality product can cause skin rashes and even a slight burn

But even an expensive cream bought at a pharmacy needs to be tested before use. Apply it to a small area of your skin and see how your body reacts. This will help you understand if you are allergic to any of the substances in the cream and if the depilatory is right for you.

To remove hair, the cream should be applied to clean, dry skin. Spread on the desired area with depilatory and wait as long as indicated in the instructions. Then rinse off the cream thoroughly. If not all hair is removed, you can remove the remaining hair with a razor.

A more radical removal method is the use of wax or sugar. This method is painful enough, but the hairs removed from the root do not grow back for 2-3 weeks. Sugar or wax can be used to remove hair from all over the body.

You will need:

  • sugar or wax
  • paper or cloth strips
  • plastic spatula
  • electric epilator

The procedure is quite simple: melted wax or a sugar mixture is applied to a strip of fabric or paper with a spatula, then the strip is applied to the skin, and after the wax hardens, it comes off along with excess hairs. These manipulations can be done independently or contact a beauty salon.

A less painful but more time-consuming process is hair removal with an electric epilator. If you find it difficult to tolerate the pain, treat only part of the area you want, and you can complete hair removal after the irritation and redness of the skin has passed. Thus, it is convenient to remove excess vegetation from the legs and arms, but some successfully treat the bikini area and even armpits with an electric epilator.

Some epilators reduce the soreness of the procedure by using a special strip that touches the skin when plucking and cools it

Complete removal of unwanted hair

There are ways to not only temporarily but also effectively get rid of excess hair permanently. These include photo and laser hair removal.

Photoepilation is most suitable for people with fair skin and dark hair. In a few flashes of the device, hair follicles are destroyed and unnecessary hair is removed. However, more often than not, complete removal will require several sessions.

Laser hair removal takes longer than its equivalent, but is suitable for all skin and hair types. The laser also destroys the hair follicle, which prevents the appearance of new hair. But as with photo epilation, you will need an additional session to get the most out of the procedure. This is due to the fact that the hair is in different stages of growth, and some of them are simply not visible during the first epilation.

If you have skin problems – acne, pimples, etc., consult a dermatologist before epilation

Almost the only drawback of laser hair removal is its cost. The procedure is carried out only in beauty salons and requires a highly qualified master.
