Especially for Woman’s Day, beauty director of Marie Claire magazine in Russia Anastasia Kharitonova spoke about the Prix d’Excellence de la Beaute 2014 award and her personal favorites of the season.
What is the best powder according to Anastasia Kharitonova?
Good afternoon, Anastasia! Please tell us what criteria were used to select the winners of the main cosmetic award of the year Prix d’Excellence de la Beaute 2014?
– The criteria for evaluating beauty novelties that claim to win the Prix d’Excellence de la Beaute are very specific and 28 years ago (this is how many years Marie Claire magazine has been choosing the best cosmetics) they were clearly spelled out in the charter of the award. So, each candidate is considered according to the following positions: innovation, efficiency, texture, design and communication.
Anastasia, what are your personal favorites?
– It is difficult for me to name my personal favorites among the winners of the Prix d’Excellence de la Beaute 2014. First of all, for ethical reasons. I am a member of the international jury and the chairman of the Russian jury, which means that all decisions were made with my direct participation. I can say one thing for sure: all the funds that received prizes this year are worthy of an award. These are interesting, high quality, effective, affordable and honest products. But in order not to be unfounded, I will name what I use at the moment myself. My cosmetic bag always contains Les Beiges powder, Chanel, and Lip Maestro, Giorgio Armani creamy lip gel. From time to time I resort to Double Serum, Clarins, and twice a year I definitely include a course (usually in spring and autumn) on Advanced Night Repair 2, Estee Lauder.
There are several lipsticks among the winners. Has it ever happened that the tone of your chosen lipstick saved a business meeting or provoked some bright event?
Among the winners of the Prix d’Excellence de la Beaute 2014, there really are several lip makeup products – this is Lip Maestro velvet gel, Giorgio Armani, and lipstick in a luxurious leather case Le Rouge, Givenchy. I can’t say that lipstick ever saved my business meeting. As a rule, little depends on this beautiful accessory. But I do not get tired of admiring how the right shade can “make” the whole image. I usually keep soft, natural shades close at hand, but in the evening or for a bright outlet, be sure to choose a matte red! And each time it is a burst of emotions (both mine and those around). Recently I discovered pink tones that I used to try to avoid. It turned out that they can also look noble and very refresh the face.
And without which beauty product would you not be able to leave the house? And what do you need to take with you on trips?
This is a foundation, and more recently, more like a BB cream. I really love the leveling base Base Fabric, Giorgio Armani. From the latest pleasant discoveries – the correcting serum for the ideal face tone Dreamtone, Lancome. Another must-have “on the way out” is an eyeliner. I can give my eyes a break from mascara, but I always draw a thin line along the upper eyelid. This creates the illusion that I am completely without makeup, and at the same time the face becomes more expressive. To do this, I use a variety of pencils and eyeliners: and not necessarily expensive. But my favorite eyeliner is Diorliner, Dior.
What do I take with me on trips? Frankly, I take everything with me … Sometimes it seems to me that most of the suitcase is occupied by my cosmetic bags. Therefore, it is simply not possible to list their contents. But my most faithful companion is cosmetic masks and patches under the eyes: these are the new The lifting and firming Mask, La Mer, and Benefiance patches, Shiseido, and the legendary Valmont collagen mask. In one word, their name is legion!
And finally, I would like to know what kind of beauty product you are dreaming about, what is now so lacking in the cosmetic market for you personally?
Having much and seeing the best, I dream of … the impossible. Although most likely the embodiment of my fantasy is just a matter of time. So, I want to see a self-tanner that not only lays down, but also rinses off smoothly, and not with an animal print. I also dream of nail polish that lasts for a week, but does not require special drying (which is still not very useful) and does not look like a false nail. In addition, my wish-list contains – hair removal without pain, maintaining slimness without constant physical exertion, lipstick that does not leave (at all does not leave!) Marks on glasses and hair oil that does not leave marks on the pillow.
