Variety “Bellarosa”: description of potatoes

Due to the early maturity of the variety in the southern regions, you can get 2 harvests per season. After collecting the first fruits in the middle of summer, the seeds can be sown again in the vacant place. In this case, new tubers will be ready in September.

Potato variety “Bellarosa” is unpretentious and gives a large yield

This variety is attractive not only for its early ripening of fruits, it has many other qualities:

  • it gives a large harvest, 20-30 tons of fruits can be harvested from one hectare;
  • not picky about the condition of the soil, the only species unfavorable for him is heavy clay soil;
  • easily tolerates drought. This variety is often chosen for planting in large areas where it is difficult to control the quality of soil moisture or the automatic irrigation system is not equipped at all;
  • has excellent taste. When boiled, it becomes moderately crumbly, but retains its shape;
  • resistant to damage, tolerates well mechanized harvesting and transportation;
  • is immune to most potato diseases.

Tubers can be stored for a long time without losing their properties and appearance. This is an exception to the rule among early varieties.

Although this is an unpretentious plant, for a better result, you need to adhere to several rules for growing it:

  1. Before planting, the seeds should be prepared: we put them in boxes in 1-2 layers and leave them for 2-3 weeks at a temperature not higher than + 15 ° C.
  2. We dig up the ground in the spring. We form the holes 10 cm deep, spread potash-phosphorus fertilizers on the bottom, then put the seeds and level the soil.
  3. It is important to respect the distance between the holes, as mature tubers are quite large. We leave 90 cm between the rows, 40 cm between the holes.
  4. It will be useful to fertilize the soil with magnesium. This is precisely the need for early varieties, especially if they are grown on sandy soil.
  5. These potatoes need to loosen the soil – this can remove weeds and increase the supply of oxygen to the root system. Enough 3 times for the entire ripening period.

In general, Bellarosa does not require much maintenance. Even if it is not possible to irrigate, it will be content with natural precipitation and, as a result, will please with a high-quality harvest.
