Care of viscose carpets does not require much time and effort

The main pros and cons of viscose rugs

Advantages of high-quality viscose carpets:

  • reasonable prices;
  • the appearance of such products practically does not differ from carpets made of natural materials;
  • do not cause allergic reactions;
  • large selection of colors;
  • retain bright color for a long time, resistant to fading from sunlight;
  • soft, lightweight and pleasant to the touch material;
  • do not electrify.

Belgian viscose carpets, as well as Turkish and Chinese carpets, usually receive a lot of positive reviews. In the manufacture of silk or wool carpets, viscose can be added to make the garment more attractive and to reduce its cost.

Among the disadvantages of viscose carpets are:

  • they are difficult to care for. Large dirt is difficult to remove on your own, it is better to give the thing to dry cleaning;
  • quickly ignite, it is not recommended to lay them in rooms with a fireplace;
  • over time, yellow spots appear on the surface of the carpets;
  • such carpets are very slippery;
  • moisture is harmful for viscose products, so there is no need to lay them in the bathroom, toilet or kitchen.

With proper care, viscose carpets will last a long time, retain their shape and color.

Caring for viscose carpets at home

To maintain the attractive appearance of the carpet, you need to:

  • avoid getting water on the product; at the slightest contact with moisture, it is important to quickly blot the stain with a napkin or sponge;
  • to preserve a presentable appearance, turn the carpet by 180 ° C so that no scuffs form on the surface;
  • do not knock them out, but just shake out the dust well. It is advised to do this at least 2 times a year;
  • vacuuming viscose products from both the seamy side and the front side;
  • place the carpet only on a dry floor.

For the first 6 months after purchase, carpets can only be cleaned with a soft brush. Cleaning viscose carpets with coarse salt will help remove accumulated dust and dirt. It is enough to cover the carpet with salt and leave for 30 minutes. Then sweep the salt well with a broom.

Viscose carpets are becoming more and more popular due to their low prices, rich colors and original ornaments. If you follow all the recommendations for care, the viscose carpet will become a decoration of your interior for a long time.
