And so, in appearance, the bait is very similar to real small-sized ducklings, which can often be found on ponds, rivers and lakes. The bait is equipped in most cases with tees on the chest and on the back, and the chest ones can be removed. Duckling from branded manufacturers is available in several colors:

- It is advisable to take a rod blank of a carbon and plug type; telescopes in this type of fishing have not proven themselves very well. The length is selected from the place of fishing, shorter options are used from the boat, usually up to 2 m long. Fishing from the coastline provides for longer options for rods, 2,4 m-2,7 m will be enough.
- The reel is selected from spinless, usually there are enough options with a 2000 spool size. Multipliers are also used, but the ability to handle them should be worked out before the first responsible fishing.
- A cord is usually used as a basis, its diameter depends on the blank test and the weight of the bait. The best option would be a braid of 0,14 mm or more, because trophy specimens of a predator pay attention to a duck, as well as an artificial rat.

It is possible to make this type of bait for pike with your own hands, but you should understand that you need to take the process seriously and spend a certain amount of time. Manufacturing is carried out as follows:
- a frame in the form of the letter P is made of steel wire with a diameter of about 0.8 mm;
- a lead weight or nuts with bolts is attached to the loading frame;
- using superglue, glue the resulting frame with wide parts of plastic disposable spoons;
- the head is glued in the same way from two components;
- duckling legs are cut out of old bicycle tires and attached to the frame from below;
- tees are attached to the brisket and back, but some equip the paws of the bait with hooks.
The workpiece is allowed to dry well, painted with spray paint, fixed with varnish, the duckling is ready for pike fishing. The bait reviews are positive, and the manufacturing process itself is simple.
