ADHD prevention

ADHD prevention

Can we prevent?

It is difficult to prevent the onset of ADHD since its causes are still poorly understood and are largely genetic. However, steps should be taken to reduce the risks of head shocks, meningitis, exposure to pollutants and poisoning from heavy metals (especially lead).

In addition, it is reasonable to think that pregnant women will give their unborn child every chance by taking the following precautions:

  • no smoking;
  • do not take alcohol or drugs;
  • avoid exposure to environmental pollutants.

Measures to prevent consequences

Le ADHD has repercussions on the whole family, on learning and social integration. It is important to gather all the resources to help the child and his family (see below). This will prevent the onset of serious consequences in adolescence and adulthood (poor self-esteem, depression, dropping out of school, etc.).
