5 ways to sterilize cans from experienced housewives

Sterilizing cans at home requires care and accuracy. There are several ways to do this.

Over the ferry

Make sure all jars and necks are intact. No cracks or chips. The covers should be flat. Wash the cans with baking soda and a dishwashing sponge. Prepare a pot in which you will boil water and a grate on which to place the jars. During sterilization of the jars themselves, the lids should be placed in boiling water.

Carefully put the hot, finished jar upside down on a clean towel, remove the lid with a fork and put the inside side down next to it. Banks must be dry before putting anything in them.

 

In boiling water

Place cans in cold water at the bottom of a saucepan – and put them on fire, covered with a lid. “Boil” for 5 minutes, remove with tongs or a fork and place on a clean ironed cloth.

In an electric oven

Just turn on the oven at 120 degrees and put clean jars in it, send the lids there too. The gas oven distributes the temperature unevenly. Therefore, there is a risk of not sterilizing the banks. Bake the jars for 15 minutes. Dry – they will be immediately ready for conservation.

In the microwave

Pour one and a half centimeters of water into each washed jar and place in the microwave. Select a mode with a power of 800-900 watts and turn on for 3 minutes. Make sure the jars don’t burst.

In the dishwasher

Despite the fact that the temperature in the dishwasher is only 70 degrees, and not 100, as sterilization requires, according to the experience of housewives, there are no problems with such jars. Place clean jars in the dishwasher and warm up.
