The film still bears little resemblance to the post-apocalypse to which the modern viewer is accustomed. There is no devastation and hopeless longing of the lost world. “Mad Max” is more like an auto-action movie with chases, explosions and cars taking off into the air.
The viewer will not be told about the structure of the world and the catastrophe that befell it, but this is not necessary. This is the story of a police officer named Max, who takes revenge for his friends and family.
The film is great as a backstory for the protagonist, besides, it still looks spectacular, since all the explosions are filmed in kind.

8. Fast and Furious (2001)

The main character – Brian – is a policeman who has a special task. He must ingratiate himself with Dominic Toretto, the leader of the street racing team, and investigate his involvement in the trailer robbery.
But Brian himself is not indifferent to cars and speed. Having joined the Toretto team, he was imbued with the romance of illegal racing. The more Dominique trusts him, the more Brian wonders if he’s on the right side. But the moment is near when he will have to make a choice, and he will have to choose at great speeds.
7. Road (2009)
In 2006, Cormac McCarthy’s novel “The Road” saw the light of day and won the love of readers, so the film adaptation was a matter of time. John Hillcoat took over.
The film tells the story of two people, a father and a son. They wander through the grey, dreary desert that was once the green Earth. After another defeat, he goes to the opposing team, which amazes his father: he had high hopes for his son. Sam Monroe decides to put on his race car uniform one last time and teach Cam a lesson.
3. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Director George Miller takes viewers back to the barren wastelands of the post-apocalypse. Max, the protagonist, comes to the conclusion that it is best to survive alone, but he does not succeed in sticking to the rule for a long time. He joins the rebels who flee from a certain Citadel, taking with them something important.
Immortal Joe, a tyrant and despot, from which the whole Citadel groans, rushes in pursuit.

2. Postman (1997)
Film by Kevin CostnerPostmanis based on a book by David Brin. It plunges the viewer into a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by epidemics and wars.
Surviving people settle in small groups in territories that belonged to the prosperous United States.
The protagonist is a vagabond, he travels from village to village and recites Shakespeare’s works to people who are not accustomed to entertainment. In return, he receives housing and modest food.
One day, the hero ends up as a recruit in a self-proclaimed army, where tyranny and cruelty run amok. Time passes before the hero manages to escape, wearing a mailman’s suit he found by chance.
Since then, he began to introduce himself as the Postman of the new United States. People in need of hope believed him, wrote letters, and many became postmen themselves. Thus was born a powerful resistance, which one day will have to face the army.
1. Water World (1995)
Director Kevin Reynolds shows the viewer the world of the future affected by global warming. The glaciers melted and water covered the earth. The rest of the people survive as best they can. Food, land, cigarettes, fresh water – this is the gold of the post-apocalypse, water world.
Some build large ships, others, “smokers”, move in boats with internal combustion engines and engage in robberies.
