10 good reasons why you should get a dog

Even if you live in a city in a small apartment.

Summer 2021 promises to be warm and sunny, getting up in the morning in this weather is much easier. And so I want to walk! If you are still wondering whether to have a dog, then this period is great for adapting and getting used to morning and evening outings.

Here are some more reasons in favor of “certainly needed!” from experienced dog breeders.

1. Good figure

At least twice a day, you will go outside to walk the dog. This means you have to breathe fresh air and move. Fitness coaches say cardio before breakfast is a surefire way to lose weight. And cardio is more effective outdoors than indoors: oxygen is very important here, but there is still more of it outside than under any air conditioner.

Bonus: invigorating morning freshness is the best way to wake up.

2. Mindfulness training

You will have to think a lot: remove everything that the puppy can chew, spoil, mark. It’s like with small children: there should be nothing potentially dangerous in the house. You will have to close the doors to the kitchen every evening, so that in the morning there are no surprises in the form of a pet carefully rolled in flour, immediately clean up after yourself from the table, and do not leave a book on the couch or bed. If you forget at least once, the dog will certainly take advantage of this.

Bonus: there will be more order in the house.

3. Alert about guests

If you have acquaintances who are able to burst into you “for tea” without a preliminary call, the dog will save you from them. Pets feel the approach of familiar people when they are just entering the entrance. If the dog is alert, went to the door or started barking in its direction, know: they are coming to you. There is a time to hide and pretend that you are not at home.

Bonus: if the doorbell does not work, the dog will easily replace it.

4. An excellent conversationalist

You will always have a living and warm creature nearby with whom you can talk. He will not interrupt, criticize, demonstrate with all his paws how he is not interested in your experiences. The dog always listens to you with gratitude for the attention you give him. It is not for nothing that psychologists note that people who have pets at home have a lower stress level than those who do not have pets.

Bonus: in a conversation with a dog, you can practice oratory skills, rehearse speech.

5. Educational skills

While raising a dog, you can raise a child at the same time.

“Both my son and the Yorkie react to the commands“ to stand ”and“ next to ”, – Ira laughs: she is raising a four-year-old terrier and a seven-year-old son.

Well, in fact, you can’t pamper one child and not pamper another. Or, conversely, to teach one person to discipline and not convey the need to observe the daily routine and mother’s rules to another.

But seriously, a dog is a great way to educate a child in responsibility: instruct him to feed, water or walk the pet. Of course, everything will have to be controlled, how could it be otherwise.

Bonus: the child trains in himself not only responsibility, but also caring.

6. Play partner

Playing with a dog is sometimes more fun than playing with a mom. After all, mom sometimes falls in a layer and refuses to jump, run and otherwise actively have fun for the hundredth time. And the doggie does not get bored of repetitive actions, and he has more energy. Though less than that of a child.

Bonus: the mother spends less time entertaining the child. And more – to their own affairs.

7. Comfort and tranquility

It has been noticed: spending the night completely alone in an empty apartment can be uncomfortable. Too quiet, too lonely. And sometimes it’s scary. It will definitely not be scary with a dog, even if it is a very tiny doggie. He will draw on himself the attention that you spend on fears and awareness of your own loneliness.

Bonus: any incomprehensible sound can be attributed to the dog. It’s harder to do this in an empty house.

8. Tears of joy

So we got to the main difference between dogs and cats. Cats don’t often show that they are happy with you. And the dog will always be happy, even if you were not there for only 5 minutes. The dog is still sincerely happy that you are back: he will hug, kiss, warmly greet.

Bonus: you always have an awareness of your own need and a being who is unconditionally in love with you.

9. Extra warmth

Experienced dog breeders note that the dog is an excellent heating pad in winter. If he sleeps at his feet, his heels will never freeze. And if it strives to get under the side, then it even warms the soul. And if we consider that this year’s summer turned out to be so-so, then the relevance of a living heating pad is still increasing. True, scientists say that taking a cat or a dog to bed is a bad idea. But is it going to stop anyone!

Bonus: there is always someone to take a selfie with.

10. Reason for refusal

A dog is a great excuse in any situation. I don’t want to go somewhere – you can always say that you need to walk your beloved puppy. Someone begs to visit – you can refer to an aggressive dog, which also falls into stress for any reason. And it doesn’t have to be true. But here it is important not to overdo it, so as not to be branded as an insane unsociable dog lover.

Bonus: walking with your pet, there are more opportunities to get to know your cute dog neighbor.
