Reason #1 – A blender is not designed to last a lifetime.
Manufacturers most often guarantee a certain period of operation of the blender – an average of 2-3 years. This is the time that the blender, with reasonable operation, will surely serve its owner. With proper care of the device, it will perform its functions much longer: often the product is so “strong” that it can be inherited. It is important to understand that even if a ten-year-old gadget functions flawlessly, perhaps the mechanisms have already worn out and the blender is working at half strength. This happens not only with the “insides” of the blender, which we cannot see. For example, with knives – the most important part of any blender. The quality and speed of grinding depends on them. Over time, they become less acute, and in most cases they cannot be replaced.
Reason number 2 – modern gadgets are more convenient
Instead of three modes, today a blender can have more than 20 speeds. You don’t have to choose the speed in advance and turn it on by pressing the button that is responsible for the desired mode. Manufacturers are increasingly equipping blenders with intuitive controls. An example is the new Philips hand blender. The device is controlled using a single button in the top handle of the blender – the power with which the gadget works depends on the change in pressing force.
There are other updates as well. Modern models weigh less, are made from more durable, pleasant to the touch and environmentally friendly materials. By the way, about the materials – if you take a closer look at your old blender, you will notice a plaque on the accessories that has not been washed off for a long time. During operation, this dirt most likely accumulated not only on the whipping bowl, but also on the blender itself and its attachments.
Reason #3 – The new blender will be more functional
It’s likely that the old immersion blender is still handy for making pancake batter, various homemade sauces and smoothies, but modern appliances are capable of more. Today, with the help of a hand blender, you can significantly speed up the preparation of many dishes, such as salads. The secret is in the attachments that were not included with the old blender. The same Philips HR2657 blender is equipped with, for example, a spiralizer vegetable cutter. With this accessory, you can cut vegetables in the form of noodles, spaghetti or linguine – a great solution for those who have given up meat, trying to “convince” a child to eat healthy foods, or just a supporter of PP. Other new accessories will also make life more comfortable – smoothies can be prepared immediately in a special glass, and soup – in a convenient sealed container, which is easy to take with you to work. In addition, such a blender can replace a full-fledged mixer – some models come with a whisk attachment with two whisks.
