What to do in case of bleeding?
A bleeding is a significant loss of blood that does not stop or that hardly decreases.
Signs of bleeding
– Significant loss of blood;
– Pain ;
– Anguish and anxiety;
– State of shock.
What are the gestures to have?
- Call for help;
- Ask if the victim has hemophilia (= disease characterized by the inability of the blood to clot). If the answer is positive, the call for help is vital ;
- Apply a sterile bandage to the wound;
- Apply direct pressure to the injury;
- Reassure the shocked victim.
Precautions to take
- Wear gloves;
- If you do not have gloves, have the victim apply pressure on the injury themselves.
NoteIf the bleeding is venous: the blood (dark red) comes from the veins and the bleeding is easier to stop. If the hemorrhage is arterial: the blood (light red) comes from the arteries, the bleeding is difficult to stop and it arrives by squirting. |
