Coronavirus: new restrictions in Poland? No closed schools, restrictions on trade possible

During the previous waves of the pandemic, relatively strict restrictions were in place in Poland. The students were learning remotely for months, shopping malls were closed, and it was practically impossible to use hotel services. Last year, students from all voivodeships had their holidays at the same time, without the possibility of practicing winter sports – the ski slopes were closed almost the entire season. The restrictions also affected gastronomy.

Currently, although the daily number of infections in Poland remains high, and there is already a highly infectious variant of Omikron on the threshold, there is no lockdown in our country. Restrictions are rather loose and actually only include restrictions on the number of people staying in certain places. In closed rooms (e.g. shops) you should also cover your mouth and nose, although many people do not follow this recommendation.

– Trade restrictions may have a positive effect on reducing the spread of SARS-CoV-2, but it is now more important to use two routes that have been scientifically proven to be effective: vaccination against COVID-19 and respect for sanitary and epidemiological rules (especially wearing protective masks, avoiding human clusters, maintaining social distance, hand hygiene and airing rooms). The requirement to respect them should be sanctioned and effectively enforced – emphasizes the expert.
