What plants can not be grown in the country
If you have your own site, this does not mean that you can plant anything on it. There are plants, the cultivation of which can lead to problems – with the law or health.
Ignorance does not absolve from responsibility – therefore it is better to know which plants are prohibited from the point of view of the law. And there are also those that are better off from the point of view of common sense. And do not forget to take a closer look at folk wisdom – our ancestors knowingly said that some plants should not be planted close to home.
Outlaw
Poppy sleeping pills
It is best to leave only classic red perennial poppies in the flower beds. It is better to stay away from all variations of food, and even more so the poppy of the genus Papaver, prohibited by the Criminal Code. So read the instructions carefully when buying seeds.
Hemp
Hemp oil, porridge – everyone knows about them. However, it is better to buy them ready-made, but in no case try to grow them yourself. Moreover, hemp raw materials must be thoroughly cleaned before they enter the kitchen.
Hawaiian rose
Argirea sinewy – the second name of the plant – does not belong at all to roses, but to the bindweed family. Hawaiian roses have been banned for cultivation in Russia since 2009. Its flower looks like an ordinary bindweed with a flower of a pale purple or lilac color. Nice, but, alas, illegal.
Blue lotus
If you have a pond at your dacha and you are deciding which plants to fill it with, by no means choose a blue lotus! This perennial water lily with bright blue flowers is very beautiful and completely illegal. However, in our latitudes, this southern exotic is unlikely to take root – it feels good in Thailand, but not in Russia.
Cat
It is an evergreen shrub native to southern countries that would make an excellent hedge. But do not experiment – it is better to choose thuja or rose hips.
Ephedra
In another way, it is called ephedra or Kuzmicheva grass. This shrub is 2-3 meters high, rather poisonous. It is not worth growing it, not only for reasons of legality, but also from a security point of view.
Sage of the Fortune Teller
Common sage is a wonderful spice. And it was this one that shamans used to evoke visions. Outwardly, this type of plant is not particularly different from other sage, but it is not at all tasty, but toxic.
In addition, the law prohibits the cultivation of mimosa khostilis, mushrooms of the genus Psilocybe, as well as cacti containing mescaline in the country. Fortunately, it is almost impossible to grow all this in Russian latitudes.
Poisonous plants
Borschevyk

Buttercup
The name is harmless, the view is harmless, but in fact, yellow flowers are not safe. Its caustic juice can cause burns if it gets into the eye – blindness, fortunately, temporary. Just imagine that a child picked a cute flower and decided to taste it.
Elder
This shrub is poisonous from top to bottom: flowers, berries, leaves, branches, roots. It is not even worth touching it once again. Only ripe elderberries are safe – they are used to make medicinal tinctures and even bake pies.
Fighter
This relative of the buttercup is, of course, poisonous. Medicinal tinctures are made from it, but it is better not to try to make them yourself – the slightest violation of technology can lead to poisoning. Not to mention the fact that an accidentally plucked flower can cause tragedy.
Belladonna
The name is beautiful, but the plant is insidious. Her synonyms are not very romantic: mad cherry, sleepy stupor. It was once used as a cosmetic product. And now – only for pharmacy purposes. The fact is that belladonna contains atropine, which can cause uncontrollable attacks of aggression.
By signs
Folk wisdom forbids planting near the house spruce и thuyu: the first one survives from the house of men, the second one prevents the girl from getting married. Pine – the choice is better, but we must take into account that nothing will grow next to it. Birch outside the gates will protect the house from evil spirits, and next to the house – provoke female diseases in its inhabitants.
Oak seeks to deprive the house of the owner: this tree sucks the strength from the sick and the weakened, drives out those who are not too brave.
