Error E9 in the Samsung washing machine was used until 2009. In modern technology, the code LE corresponds to it – it means a leak.
The causes and problems are identical, but during the work, the manufacturer changed the error codes several times. We will tell you what error E9 means on the scoreboard, how to fix the problem yourself and in which case it is better to call a specialist.
The main causes and signs of failures
If the Samsung washer shows error E9, there is a leak somewhere. If the liquid level in the tank drops more than four times in a row, the controller interrupts the wash and issues an error. Completion of work can occur both at the start and when switching to a new mode of operation (spin or rinse).
Depending on the release date, the Samsung technician will show fault codes LE or error E9.
Broken or badly connected hose
Physical damage to the SMA is usually noticed by owners without looking at the screen. If water is spilled around the unit, most likely, the equipment shows E9 on the display. If the machine is new, it is likely that the drain hose is connected in violation of the technology.
Repair in this case is not required, it is only necessary to eliminate the consequences of the negligence of the installers.
The sensor that controls the filling of equipment fails
In washing machines, where aquastat controls the water level, error E9 on the display can be displayed even without obvious visual signs of problems. In this case, the water level sensor itself is faulty.
The solution to the problem is to replace the aquastat with a new one.
The integrity of the drum or gasket is broken
Together with clothes, solid objects can get into the washing machine that can pierce not only the seal, but also crush the plastic parts of the drum. As a result, the unit leaks, E9 lights up on the screen, the operation is blocked.
Small cuts in rubber parts can be sealed; for a complete change, it is better to involve a specialist.
Complex faults
In some cases, it is difficult not only to fix the breakdown, but also to find out exactly the cause of the failure. Having figured out what to do before calling the repairmen, let’s move on to identifying complex problems.
Malfunction | Possible reasons | What to do |
E9 is displayed, the pan is full of water. | The pipe is clogged or the seal is torn. | Seal small holes yourself, blow out the pipe. Call a technician to replace. |
The machine does not start | The pressure switch is faulty. | Blow out the part tube, if the error has not been reset, the part needs to be replaced, which means contacting a specialist. |
E9 lights up when the washer goes from mode to mode. | The electronic block is junk. | If the board burned out completely, it needs to be replaced. But more often soldering is enough. |
In a washer with aquastat, error E9 appears after a while after starting the wash. | Perhaps the relay is failing. | To remove the error, you need to replace the aquastat. |
Leak from the back of the washing machine. | The hose is clogged or mechanically damaged. | Replace hose. |
What does the disappearing, then appearing sign E9 mean? | The problem may be in the wiring – insufficient contact between the wires. | Buying a new cable will help. |
Before you fix a serious breakdown of the washing machine yourself, evaluate your strengths. For minor repairs, a master is not needed, and complex malfunctions should be entrusted to the warranty service.
