The E1 error in the Samsung washing machine can appear both at the start and during the final rinse of the laundry. The easiest way to identify a malfunction is when you turn it on: after starting, the characteristic sound of water filling is not heard.
What do the indicators and error codes on the scoreboard say?
Error 4E, similar to CHE and 4C, describes a common problem: for some reason, the machine does not fill with water.
A washing machine without a screen will inform you about the problem by winking all the lights and the “Cold Water” indicator on. An old model of a Samsung typewriter with a display will display E1 on the scoreboard.
What to do to conduct self-diagnosis
Before fixing the machine or ordering a repair, try to check it on your own. Sometimes the failure of the washing machine is caused by external causes.
- If the machine gives an E1 error, check if the water supply is turned off in the building itself.
- Make sure the faucet on the water line to the washing machine is fully open. Sometimes simple care is enough to solve the problem.
There are no interruptions in the water supply, but the Samsung washing machine shows E1. Let’s figure out what to do next.
4E is on, this is the first time the problem has appeared – try resetting the electronic unit. Turn off the machine for a couple of minutes from the network – the glitch of the control module will disappear.
If the error reset did not occur and E1 continues to light up, proceed to checking the SM hardware.
How to fix minor issues
Small objects could damage or clog the cleaning filter, causing an E1 error. You can fix this problem yourself.
- Locate the filter (it is located at the junction of the hose and body).
- Shut off the water supply, unfasten the hose, remove the mesh.
- If the contamination is insignificant, wash the filter. A solution of citric acid will relieve scale on the mesh (the mesh must be kept in it for about an hour).
The control unit of the washing machine may not be supplied with current. Check the integrity of the wires and the reliability of their fastening.
Does the machine collect water, but immediately drain it (the temperature of the incoming liquid does not matter)? This happens with installation flaws, when the tank is located above the sewer drain point, and there is no compensating loop on the hose.
Correct connection will remove the error.
Problems requiring specialist intervention
If the measures taken did not bring results and the Samsung machine still shows an error, a qualified repair will be required.
