What and why you can’t eat up from the New Year’s table

Five dishes from last year to be careful with.

New Year’s holidays is a time to have fun and rest, and not to idle for hours at the stove. Moreover, on the very festive night, the tables are laden with dishes. And how nice it is to wake up on January 1 and finish last year’s salads, kebabs and cakes without getting out of bed. But wait, not all products can be kept for next year. Here is a list of what to eat here and now.

Don’t season the whole salad before the holiday.

Waking up after dinner and sitting in front of the TV with Olivier left over from the evening – this happened to almost everyone. Moreover, a bowl of salad on the first day of the year is always half full. And now attention: if the salad is seasoned with oil or mayonnaise, it is absolutely impossible to finish it in the morning after the holiday. The shelf life of such a dish is only six hours.

What now, not to cut a bowl of salad with “Irony of Fate”? There is a way out – you just need not refuel your favorite New Year’s dish. And then it will be possible to finish it not only the next day after the holiday.

Slicing needs to be eaten urgently

You won’t be able to please yourself with sandwiches from yesterday’s table either. Slicing is a good thing, but the “life” of a sausage or cheese is significantly reduced. The fact that the dish winds up and quickly loses its presentation is still half the trouble. Bacteria spread quickly in the air. So if you do not want to spend the rest of the New Year’s holidays with an intestinal or stomach infection, do not make a generous cut – it is better to distract from the guests once again.

And this applies not only to meat or cheese. Sliced vegetables and fruits on the table can be stored for no more than 12 hours. During this time, bacteria multiply, making you feel tired and unhealthy later. So cover the delicious cucumbers and tomatoes with cling film and put them in the refrigerator.

Cakes are stored for no more than a day

Products with cream do not need to be set aside from those with a sweet tooth – there is absolutely no way to eat the dessert left over from the evening. So don’t be greedy and put a plate of sweets right in the center of the New Year’s table. Especially if she herself made all this beauty – the simplest cakes with whipped cream and sour cream live only six hours, even in the refrigerator. And after that they become dangerous not only for the figure, but also for health. Custard and curd cream can be stored three times longer – 18 hours, but last year’s delicacies will still not survive until the evening of January 1.

Tin cans oxidize after opening and damage the product

Let’s say you didn’t have enough buns to lay out all the sprats, and only half a jar of peas or other canned food was spent on salads. They have a long shelf life, you think. This is true, but not entirely – after opening the jar, the shelf life drops sharply. And you cannot leave the product in an open can even for a couple of hours – the steel begins to oxidize and release harmful substances. The solution is simple: stock up on glass jars to hide the remaining peas, corn or sprats there. But even in this case, the life of the product is not more than a day.

The meat must be warmed up

Ahead is the Year of the Dog, which means that meat dishes will become the main decoration of the New Year’s table. But on January 1, be careful with them. You can cook more steaks and kebabs in the evening of December 31, but on a hungry morning, no matter how strong your laziness is, the meat needs to be thoroughly fried again.
