Vesyolka common is a fairly popular and well-known mushroom, but it has a slightly less pleasant “relative” that is extremely reminiscent of it – Jolly Hadrian.

Pages Public Figure (Phallus Hadriani) initially has an ovoid oblong fruiting body (about 4-6 cm in diameter), which is completely or half in the ground.

The color of the shell of the fungus is usually pink or purple. The lower part of Vesyolka Hadrian is folded, ending with pink strands of mycelium. This is by no means the final “form” of the fungus, but Vesyolka has been in this state for a very long time.

Then the shell bursts, with a speed of several centimeters per hour, the growth of a white porous leg with a dark wrinkled hat begins. The mushroom can reach 20 cm in height. The hat is shaped like a bell, at the top there are pieces of the shell, covered with mucus. At the base remains a wide gelatinous pink Volvo – the remains of an egg.

The pulp of a young fungus is initially dense and white, covered with a shell with a mucous layer, the inner layer is greenish. However, Vesyolka then acquires a terrible smell that can attract flies.

Phallus Hadriani is quite rare. It grows in deciduous forests or in gardens, mainly grows on sandy soil. Rarely found groups of mushrooms. Disperses spores from July to October.

The mushroom is similar to Veselka ordinary (Phallus impudicus), but the egg is white or yellowish, and the hat is pointed. It also resembles the dog Mutinus (Mutinus caninus), but it is much smaller, and the hat of Mutinus is orange.

As long as the flesh of the mushroom has not darkened, it can be eaten. For example, an egg can be fried internally. But Hadrian’s Joy doesn’t taste good at all. Moreover, the edible part is quite small. Therefore, it makes no sense to cook this mushroom.

The medicinal properties of Vesyolka vulgaris are also inherent in Hadrian’s Vesyolka.
