Venezuela now has eggs instead of money

Unfortunately, hyperinflation in Venezuela has reached unprecedented levels. Prices for products in the republic are steadily growing twice every few weeks, the government does not have time to print the required number of banknotes. Now on the black market, the cost of 1 US dollar is 236 thousand bolivars.

ATM machines do not work well. And the residents thought about returning to the system of natural exchange. Many stores began to accept chicken eggs as payment.

Venezuelans have tried to offer merchants as means of payment products as well – onions, bananas – but so far eggs are the only universal alternative to depreciated bolivars.

By the way, eggs can be used to pay not only for goods, but also for services, for example, transport. On the black market of the country, a package of 30 eggs costs 247 thousand bolivars.
