Description of the tulip “Red Impression”

This variety belongs to the class of Darwinian hybrids, due to which it has good frost resistance, as well as immunity to most diseases, and retains freshness for a long time after cutting. In addition, “Red Impression” has one more advantage – the tulip reproduces well, each bulb produces a lot of children during the season. As a rule, the variety is grown for decorating flower beds, but is also suitable for forcing in a greenhouse for the holidays.

The variety is medium early. The flowering period begins in early May and lasts about 2 weeks. The stem of the plant reaches 55-60 cm in length. The glass is ordinary, classic, large in size, about 10–12 cm high. The petals have a glossy sheen, painted in a deep red color.

Tulip “Red Impression”: planting and care

Set up a flower garden with this variety protected from the wind and in the most sunny area. Otherwise, the color saturation of the glasses will decrease significantly. With regard to the soil, the “Red Impression” prefers light, fertile loam or sandy loam. In this case, the site should not be in the lowland, because the tulip does not tolerate stagnant moisture.

If the soil is too heavy, it is advisable to add sand or peat to it before planting. Acidic soil should be limed beforehand. Tulips should be planted in this way:

  1. Dig trenches or holes up to 10 cm deep.
  2. Plant the bulbs and cover them with soil.
  3. Maintain a distance of 10-20 cm between plants.
  4. Moisten the soil and mulch the surface with peat.

Remember that bulbs that are too small should be buried to a depth of 5 cm. Otherwise, they will not be able to germinate.

“Red Impression” is quite unpretentious, and its care consists in periodic moderate watering, as well as weeding and loosening of the soil. In addition, it is advisable to feed the flowers during active growth. For these purposes, both organic and mineral fertilizers are suitable.

You need to dig up the bulbs every year, after the leaves of the flower turn yellow. Once every 4-5 years, you need to transplant crops to a new place
