Traumon is a drug used in rheumatology and orthopedics to relieve symptoms of injuries, degenerative disease and rheumatism. Traumon is a prescription drug.

Traumon – indications for the use of the preparation

The active substance of Traumon is etofenamate – a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug. Traumon gel should be used topically in pain conditions:

  1. after blunt injuries (bruises, sprains, strains of muscles, tendons and joints),
  2. osteoarthritis of the spine, knee and shoulder joints,
  3. extra-articular rheumatism (pain in the sacro-lumbar region, bursitis, tendons, tendon sheaths, joint capsules, epicondylitis).

Traumon – dosage

  1. Adults:
  2. gel – put a 5-10 cm strip (about 1,7-3,3 g) on ​​the skin and rub until completely absorbed, repeat 3-4 times a day.
  3. spray solution on the skin: spray 3-5 times a day, usually up to 7 doses at a time, after every 1-2 doses, gently rub the preparation into the skin and let it dry. Treatment of rheumatic complaints usually takes 3-4 weeks, and blunt injuries up to 2 weeks.

Traumon – contraindications and warnings

The contraindication to the use of the preparation is hypersensitivity to etofenamate, flufenamic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and pregnancy. Do not use in children under the age of 14.

Warnings before using the preparation:

  1. Do not use in the case of skin damage or lesions on the skin.
  2. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
  3. Do not use during pregnancy.
  4. During breastfeeding, it can be used for a short time, if necessary, on a small area of ​​the skin. Do not apply the drug around the breasts.
  5. During and after treatment, exposure of the treated areas to the sun / solarium should be avoided for 2 weeks.
  6. Systemic absorption is possible when applied to large areas of the body and / or over an extended period of time.
  7. The drug contains propylene glycol – may cause skin irritation.

Side effects of the preparation

  1. Rare: reddening of the skin.
  2. Very rare: allergic skin reactions, e.g. severe itching, rash, erythema, edema, blisters, photosensitivity reaction, hypersensitivity.
