A gourmet e-commerce for lovers of healthy and sustainable food
A journey to the origin of natural flavors, materialized in high quality food, made in a traditional way in villages, mainly Galician.

Likewise, according to the latest study by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAP) on organic production in Spain published in 2016, this sector moves 1.700 million euros in our country, where purchases have increased by 700 million in the last three years. The consumption of organic food grew in Spain by 14% in the past year and 40% of Spanish households already consume this type of healthy diet, according to the report, “Myths and realities about the consumption of organic products.”

The startup is part of the current upward trend of e-commerce in the field of food, an increasingly widespread formula in Spain.

In this model of marketplace power is located La Casa de la Aldea, which contributes to responsible consumption by reducing the traditional food distribution chain from 5 steps to 1. With this process, The Village House it has a positive impact on the environment by promoting sustainability and reducing the amount of packaging and preservatives used in the traditional model.
This distribution model allows The Village House reward the authors and artisans with whom it collaborates a fair price for their works, favoring spaces for the creation of profitable professional projects in rural areas, which in turn are sustainable with the environment and rescue ancestral traditions.
The platform also serves as a showcase for these authors, because it reveals their own history behind each of them.
The origins and future of La Casa de la Aldea
Since its creation in 2013, the platform already has more than 200 gourmet works produced in a traditional way by more than 70 authors and they make about 300 weekly shipments to urban or semi-urban centers, with an average ticket exceeding € 58. Only last year they billed 56.000 euros.
During this fiscal year, they estimate to have 1.000 new consumers attached to their platform and triple sales.
To achieve this growth, La Casa de la Aldea seeks a capital increase of between 160.000 and 200.000 euros through the Social Exchange, which they will use to expand their market share by adding new artisans to their e-commerce, expanding their offer of gourmet works and becoming international.
Investors who bet on gourmet e-commerce and thus become new partners in the project, will be able to benefit from an annual discount percentage that ranges between 7,5% and 12,5% depending on the capital invested.
