The benefits and harms of fruit diets

The variety of fruits and berries suggests those who are losing weight about appropriate diets – strawberry, watermelon, citrus. But fruits and berries are carbohydrates, moreover, simple ones, which do not give a feeling of long satiety, and it is very easy to overdo it with eating delicious fruits. In addition, they contain a lot of fructose, which belongs to sugars and in the process of getting rid of extra pounds should also be limited.

In order to lose weight effectively, not impulsively and for a short time, it is advisable to give preference to carbohydrates, which take a lot of time to digest – these are cereals, legumes, whole grain bread. There is a gradual increase in blood sugar levels, insulin is produced to lower sugar, but also evenly and gradually.

Next, the process of storing glycogen in the muscles and liver takes place, and then during training, muscle glycogen covers the energy consumption for physical activity.

Simple carbs cause a spike in insulin, but it’s not even that fruits that harm weight loss. Fructose does not just cause sudden jumps in sugar, but insulin is not involved in the metabolism of fructose and in the liver it is synthesized into fatty acids. In other words, fructose is ultimately stored in fat.

Fruit Diet

Most diets, including fruit diets, are based on the use of one product or a significant emphasis on it. But any mono-diet is harmful to the body – it significantly undermines health, rebuilds all systems, and if this is not noticeable now, it will surely come back to haunt in the future.

And now – the metabolism will slow down and get rid of extra pounds, on the contrary, will become much more difficult. Losing weight is possible only with proper and balanced nutrition and physical activity, and the effect of 3-5 kilograms is drained water that will return with the old diet.

Fat Burning Fruits

Many nutritionists claim that fruits such as pineapple, grapefruit or orange can speed up the fat burning process without any additional effort. If there is such an effect, then it is so insignificant, and the decrease in orange peel or centimeters at the waist is not their merit.

Fructose instead of sugar

Some people try to replace sweets in their diets with products intended for diabetics. But fructose cannot replace sugar and there is no sense for losing weight from it at all. And by consoling with hope and neglecting the doses, you can easily achieve the opposite effect.
