Homemade lemon vodka is a strong alcoholic drink with a bright taste and aroma of lemon, as well as a long citrus aftertaste. It looks like store-bought counterparts, but it has one significant advantage – only natural ingredients are used for cooking, and not chemical flavors like most manufacturers. Lemon flavored vodka is usually served in intelligent circles.
As an alcohol base, instead of vodka, ethyl alcohol diluted with water or moonshine of a high degree of purification (without the sharp smell of fuselage) is suitable.
Ingredients:
- lemon – 2 stuff;
- sugar (liquid honey) – 1-2 tablespoons (optional);
- vodka – 1 liter.
Lemon vodka recipe
1. Scald two medium-sized lemons with boiling water, then rinse in warm water to get rid of wax or other preservative that citrus fruits are coated to increase shelf life. Scalding also makes the peel softer and the fruit easier to peel.
2. With a vegetable peeler or a knife, remove the zest from the lemons – the upper yellow part.
It is very important not to touch the white peel, otherwise the finished drink will be very bitter.
3. Squeeze juice from peeled lemons (the less pulp, the better).
4. Pour the zest into a jar or glass bottle, then pour in the lemon juice.
5. Add sugar or honey to soften the taste (optional), pour in vodka. Stir until sugar (honey) is completely dissolved.
6. Close the container tightly with a lid and put it in a warm place for 1-2 days to infuse. Shake every 8-12 hours.
7. At the end, filter the lemon vodka through gauze or a sieve, pour into bottles, seal tightly and refrigerate. The drink is ready to drink, suitable for a variety of celebrations. Before serving, I advise you to pour into transparent bottles. The yellowish tint will intrigue guests.
Shelf life in a dark place – up to 3 years. Fortress – 34-36 degrees.
If turbidity or sediment appears (a feature of natural ingredients, the sediment does not affect the taste), filter the lemon flavored vodka through cotton wool.
