Symptoms of sinusitis

Typically, sinusitis appears after a cold, which appears to be cured or on the road to recovery, and which is complicated by infection of the sinuses.

Typical symptoms

  • A facial pain (above the eyebrows, nose, cheeks, around and behind the eyes).
  • Painful sensations of pressure in the sinus area or on only one side of the face.
  • A congestion nasal.
  • benefits secretions thick and purulent yellowish or greenish nasals, in case of bacterial infection. If the secretions are clear, it is more of a viral infection (for which antibiotics are of no help).
  • A fever slight and general malaise.
  • A decrease or loss ofsmell.

Other possible symptoms

  • A bad breath.
  • benefits headaches.
  • Pain in teeth and to the upper jaw.
  • A cough oily, because the secretions tend to end up in the throat.

Remarks

The pain is accentuated when you tilt your head down.

In chronic sinusitis, the symptoms are the same as in acute sinusitis, but they last longer and there is no fever.
