Stretch marks on the body: how to get rid of? Video Tips
Overstretching of the skin that occurs during pregnancy or for any other reason can lead to the formation of aesthetically unattractive scars – stretch marks. You can get rid of them both in the beautician’s office and using home remedies.
Stretch marks can form on almost any part of the body, but most often they occur where the skin is especially thin and delicate.
The reasons for their appearance may be:
- weight fluctuations
- insufficient skin elasticity
- rapid growth of the chest and abdomen during pregnancy
- endocrine disorders
- hereditary predisposition
How to remove stretch marks with home remedies
Essential oils are an excellent remedy for stretch marks. They soften the skin, increase its elasticity and promote rapid tissue regeneration. Neroli and orange oils are considered the most effective in this regard. It is necessary to mix two drops of each of them and add to 5 ml of the base.
As a base, you can use either your usual body cream, or any base oil (coconut, olive, jojoba, etc.)
You can reduce stretch marks with a home peel. A tablespoon of sea salt should be mixed with the same amount of warm liquid honey and, vigorously massaging the skin, apply the composition to problem areas of the body. After a while (usually 5-10 minutes is enough), the honey-salt mixture can be washed off and a thin layer of nourishing cream with vitamins is applied to stretch marks. The procedure should be repeated every other day.
Onion compresses have a good effect against stretch marks. They improve blood flow at the site of tissue overstretching and help reduce scarring. To prepare the compress, grate the onion on a fine grater and apply the gruel to the steamed skin. After 15 minutes, the onion mass can be washed off.
An onion compress will be more effective if you first not only steam the skin, but also rub it with a washcloth until redness appears
Other ways to get rid of stretch marks
You can get rid of stretch marks with cosmetics containing collagen, elastin and vitamins. These funds effectively fight fresh scars and are even approved for use by pregnant women. You can use such creams not only when stretch marks have already formed, but also for preventive purposes.
It is better to treat old stretch marks not at home, but in medical centers and beauty salons.
Laser and radio wave skin resurfacing helps a lot. During the procedure, the surface layers of the epidermis are removed, as a result of which stretch marks become almost invisible.
