Lecithin is a chemical compound from the group of phospholipids that occurs naturally in the human body and is involved in many processes taking place in it. It is present in every cell of the cell membrane, and the most lecithin can be found in the nervous tissue, bone marrow and the brain. With age, the demand for lecithin increases with the development of the organism. It was first extracted from chicken egg yolks.

Lecithin – application

Lecithin it is obtained from plants as a by-product of oil refining. The most common use is soy lecithinwhich occurs in soybeans and is widely used both in medicine and in the food industry. Soy is a valuable source of protein and is very often found in vegan and vegetarian diets. Phytoestrogens and unsaturated fatty acids found in soybeans are recommended for women with menopausal symptoms because they alleviate unpleasant ailments.

Obtained from soybeans soy lecithin it contains nutrients, so it is often in the form of a dietary supplement. As an active substance lecithin it is also used in drugs and preparations to strengthen memory. It is one of the few substances that can delay the aging process of the body by increasing the absorption of vitamins. How much concentration lecytyny occurs precisely in the nervous tissues, it has a direct impact on mental performance and is recommended during stressful situations and to increase the ability to concentrate.

As is known, v lecithin choline is present, which limits the build-up of cholesterol and prevents the formation of gallstones and protects the liver. Its properties include, among others, preventing depression and improving mental condition.

Soy lecithin – outside of medicine

Despite its medical use soy lecithin also occurs as a food additive under the name E322. It strengthens the durability and quality of the product with a corresponding reduction in production costs. This supplement is not harmful to the body, although, as any preparation, it can cause undesirable effects. These include: diarrhea, constipation, problems with the digestive system, lack of appetite, weight change – loss and its sudden increase, rashes, allergic allergies, low blood pressure, which can cause dizziness and confusion. Side effects mainly result from the use of pesticides and chemicals on soybean crops, which are often subject to modifications, so a product purchased from a proven company should not have similar effects.

Lecytyna sojowa it is often added to cosmetics and has skin and hair care properties. Before using such cosmetics, it is worth making sure that they do not cause skin sensitization.
