The first Route of the Solidarity Tapa of Almería is about to begin, and its main mission, to help those most in need, has brought together a large part of the city’s catering establishments.
The objective of raising funds so that the Food Bank, whose provincial headquarters is located in Roquetas de Mar, is a clear motivation not only for participants in culinary creation, but also for visitors who want to taste the excellent creations of the hoteliers local.
The initiative comes from the company Smile Hunters and the Association of Hoteliers of Almería (Ashal), and has the institutional support of the Diputación de Almería, the City Council of the capital.
There will be many days in which you can visit the city while trying and contributing to this gastro-solidarity initiative, specifically from May 27 to July 7, some thirty bars in Almería will offer their Tapas to the who want to eat well, help those most in need.
Among the thirty participants, there are traditional and traditional bars and restaurants in the city as well as the last to arrive in the exciting world of hospitality, who did not want to miss the appointment either.
We will be able to enjoy culinary creations at Piscolabos, Picasso, La Bodeguilla, Wine on a Boat, at Motown, at Cervecería Baviera, at Rayuela, Dos Culturas, Casco Antiguo, Los Dominguez, El Escondite, Saboreo, Patio de Vecinas, La Plazuela Gastrobar, Burana, Vintage 54, Almadrabillas, La Tahonao or La Marca.
The Bodegas las Botas or Marquez de Heredia, and the Tabernas La Encina, Nuestra Tierra Nuevo Torreluz, San Juan or the Portón de la Bahía will also be offering their Solidarity Cover.
Solidarity comes with Tapas and something else
food BankThe Tapas offered by the affiliated bars and restaurants will cost two euros each, and of these, a part will be donated to the solidarity organization of the food bank for its subsequent conversion into an improvement of its services and facilities.
The president of the Food Bank of Almería, Juan Azorín, detailed the presentation of the event, the purpose for which he wants to allocate the proceeds of the event, and will consist of the construction of a new warehouse for this NGO, which needs more space for store the donations and thus be able to continue helping all those in need of basic nutrition.
In reference to these donations, it is worth highlighting the one already made by the businessman Amancio Ortega, which reaches the figure of € 96.000, and they have served to start the construction works of the aforementioned warehouse.

This is not the first time that we mention the initiative to unite gastronomy and solidarity, since any time of the year is good to promote the activity of the hospitality sector and even more so if it is related to helping the most needy, like the opening of the Cantina Gastronomix last February, which we echoed.
