These pugs will not turn their tongue to call them muzzles. They look more like faces – so human emotions are written on them.
Once upon a time, dogs were much closer to wolves than they are now. But then people decided to domesticate these animals, and evolution took this into account: the mimicry of dogs changed. If we compare the movements of the muscles of the muzzle of a dog and a wolf, it turns out that the first “faces” are much more mobile. And scientists say that the dog’s facial expressions adapt to the human: our four-legged friends have learned to copy a distressed expression, surprised and even funny. In addition, dogs can now read a person’s mood. Maybe that’s why we are so touched by the expressions of dog faces?
By the way, it was previously believed that dogs are not able to control the movements of the muzzle muscles. That is, if they have facial expressions, it is involuntary. And then the scientists decided to check this statement for sure, and it turned out that dogs are able to express surprise or bewilderment, sadness and interest with their “face”. And just as cats influence people to force their owners to act in their own way, so dogs, with the help of a cunning pug, get what they want from a person.
The mobility of the eyebrows has especially changed. Dogs began to notice that people like it when a pet rounds their eyes, raising their eyebrows, and began to do this more often. As a result, the movement was consolidated, the muscles became more developed. This feature is now passed down from generation to generation.
And the owners notice that the dog’s facial expressions are not limited to surprise or sadness alone. It can be boredom, and happiness, and the guilty expression of a pug. And this handsome look is clearly downward: he is the king here, he is happy with everything. Master, and nothing more.
We have collected in social networks photos with the most eloquent pugs of our younger brothers. What emotions will you see in them?
