In order to recognize pregnancy, there are many different signs and symptoms. They can manifest themselves both together and separately. The reason for their appearance is hormonal changes in the woman’s body.
Many of the signs are very similar to premenstrual syndrome. If you do not exclude the possibility that conception could have occurred, then, of course, you will notice these “clues”. When your period is delayed, and you also have many signs: nausea, dizziness, etc., you can make the assumption that conception has occurred.
To understand why the lower abdomen pulls at the beginning of pregnancy, you need to imagine the following picture. The ovum met with the “nimble” spermatozoon, after their fusion a zygote was formed. Now it will move along the fallopian tubes to the uterus to settle on its walls for further growth and development. The timing of the movement of the zygote to the place of its further location for each woman is different, but on average it is 6-12 days. Very often fertilization occurs during ovulation (approximately 10-12 days of the cycle). From this we can conclude that the fertilized egg reaches the uterus at the end of the cycle, i.e., only a couple of days remain until the next menstruation. Thus, the cause of the pulling pain in the lower abdomen can be either the next menstruation, or the birth of a new life. Here is an approximate fertilization scheme.
In order to finally land on the walls of the uterus, the egg “builds a nest for itself”: it takes out the epithelial cells and puts its roots in their place. From a scientific point of view, this process is called implantation, it is he who causes a pulling pain in the lower abdomen. It is accompanied by several signs that, even before the delay in menstruation, can tell a woman about the fertilization that has taken place. During these pains, the uterus fights against the invasion of a “foreign body” and protects the integrity of the epithelial lining. Sometimes, during the introduction of the egg into the walls of the uterus, spotting spotting (pink, cream, brown, beige and reddish) may appear, which is quite natural. Many women mistakenly perceive them as long-awaited menstruation, although this is far from the case.
There are many different signs of early pregnancy that are very similar to premenstrual syndrome in women: nausea, dizziness, a feeling of disgust for certain odors, sudden changes in mood, increased nipple sensitivity, soreness, irritability, and sudden changes in appetite. That is why it is very difficult to determine pregnancy before menstruation is delayed. A pulling pain in the abdomen is a consequence of many other factors, for example, various inflammations, frequent infections and stress, and trauma. Also, the cause of pain can be a consequence of sexual intercourse, gynecological examination and taking certain hormonal medications.
It is important to know that pulling pain in the abdomen can be a signal not only of completed fertilization, but also of the threat of its interruption. The ovum is a “foreign” body for the female body, so the uterus tries to get rid of it in every possible way and begins to contract in order to dump this “unnecessary burden”. In order not to give the uterus a chance, there are immune functions in the body that are a powerful defense mechanism for pregnancy. In the early stages of pregnancy, they “give up their positions” a little, providing an opportunity for the future organism to gain a foothold on the walls of the uterus for further growth and development. There are cases when the uterus wins, which can be caused by many reasons. If the egg is rejected by the cells of the uterus, a miscarriage will occur, which the woman will not even feel, she will just start her menstrual cycle.
If you know about your pregnancy, which is several weeks old, or you suspect that conception may have occurred, and you feel severe, cramping pain, you should immediately consult a doctor. Sometimes this pain can be given to the lower back, accompanied by bleeding, you need to immediately go to preservation, because all this can be a signal of the threat of a pregnancy failure.
Let your lower abdominal pain be a pleasant surprise, not a sad consequence.
