Rice enters the gastronomic scene
The emblematic dish of Spanish gastronomy opens a culinary contest.
Unilever Food Solutions has proposed that all lovers of good cuisine, choose the “Best rice of 2017”
Half a thousand restaurants are already registered in this interesting contest, in which the aim is to choose the best rice dishes made in the hospitality establishments of our geography, helping customers to consume this delicious dish of our own within the restaurants. culinary culture.
Hundreds of recipes They are cooked daily throughout the country, and this first edition of the contest will group the recipes of the restaurants through an exclusive Internet portal whose name could not be more illustrative, mejorarroces.es. A place where restaurants and customers converge to be in the first person and be chosen by the diners themselves as the best of the best.
A ranking of the most valued elevates the chosen ones to the Top 10, to win some of the contest prizes. The six most voted recipes from each of the six gastronomic areas will go on to the grand final, to be held in October 2017.

The culinary hospitality competition was presented last April at the Platea space in Madrid, by Àngels Solans, general director of Unilever Food Solutions, which had the invaluable collaboration of two leading swords in culinary preparation such as Mario Sandoval and María José San Román, which developed a live demonstration of how to make one of their “rice” recipes.

Chefs also participated in the presentation of the contest Igor Ruiz of the Batzoki Miribilla restaurant in Bilbao and Javier Guerra from UFS, who contribute their know-how to a publication that includes the best rice recipes in Spain published by Unilever Food Solutions and we attach you here to be able to download it and start preparing some of those prescribed in the very long list.
The competition is organized by Unilever Food Solutions, which actively participates through its brand Knorr and the excellent broths and funds for the elaboration of rice. Products that are distributed to the hospitality industry through different marketing channels and supply chain for the catering and hospitality sector, such as the one led by Ehosa through its online store of hospitality products.
As collaborators of the contest of the best rice of 2017 are the Federation of Cooks and Confectioners of Spain (FACYRE), the Spanish Federation of Hotels and Restaurants (FEHR) and the brands of machinery and kitchen utensils Rational, Bra and Klimer.
