Tea was discovered 5 years ago in China and is still one of the most common alternatives to water today. Poles take fifth place in the world in terms of drinking tea, but unfortunately our choice falls most often on express black tea. What should we reach for to enjoy health?

Not only food, but also tea has many benefits for our body. Let’s not ignore this precious drink. Particularly valuable properties, however, have leaf teas, which, although they require a bit more effort to prepare, their taste and value are invaluable.

Although there are many types of tea in the world, they are derivatives of one plant – Chinese camellia, also known as the tea bush. The only and fundamental difference lies in the method of preparation of the collected leaves.

One of the curiosities that is worth knowing is the fact that Yerba Mate and Rooibos, known as “teas”, are not really teas, herbs – the first comes from Paraguayan holly, the second from South African holly. Types of the healthiest teas:

  • Green tea – considered the healthiest and at the same time the oldest. It is made from unfermented leaves. It contains a lot of vitamin C, lowers cholesterol, has anticancer and antibacterial properties, relaxes, refreshes, protects the heart, prevents the formation of kidney stones, as well as in the liver and bladder, has an antioxidant effect. In addition, it strengthens the bones. Recommended for children, people on a diet and those who have too high blood pressure.
  • White tea – it is called the tea of youth. It is also the rarest and the most expensive species, slightly fermented. The name “white” owes to the color of the dried shoots from which it is brewed. At the same time, it has a straw color, contains the largest amount of flavonoids, inhibits the aging process, soothes allergies, prevents heart disease, which is why it will be ideal for allergy sufferers, children and people with high cholesterol.
  • Red tea – has a cleansing effect on the body. Its leaves are semi-fermented. Recommended for people who care about their figure and want to cleanse the body of toxins. Why? It lowers the cholesterol level, improves the appearance of the skin, cleanses the body, supports the liver, soothes the effects of alcohol consumption (so it is good for a hangover), stimulates digestion and supports slimming, improves the condition of the hair. Its valuable property is breaking down unnecessary fat deposits in the body, thanks to which it helps to get rid of them.
  • Yellow tea – hardly available in Europe. It is made from slightly fermented leaves. It contains little theine, but it is recommended as a natural energy drink. In addition, it has a cleansing effect on the body and has an excellent effect on digestion.
