Progenia – causes and characteristics of the malocclusion. What is the treatment of progenia?

Dental doctors are sounding the alarm: more and more people suffer from serious and less serious dental diseases. Some problems come and go, others are a birth defect that we can fight, however, in one way or another. More and more people in Poland suffer from a malocclusion called progenia. This is a bothersome problem. However, you can counteract this condition and alleviate symptoms.

Cause progenia

Progenia is a problem faced by more and more people. First of all, when touching the subject related to this defect, it is worth asking yourself the question: what is the cause of progenia? What is she?

As we have already mentioned, the fretting is a malocclusion – the characteristic features are the protruding chin and the lower lip. For aesthetic reasons, many people are ashamed of this disease, the more so as facial features change at an advanced stage. People struggling with progenia have to break down to go out to people. Unfortunately, this is not the end of the discomfort caused by this disease – crooked teeth that overlap, among other things, cause problems with proper oral hygiene. We cannot brush our teeth thoroughly because it is very troublesome. The teeth are weak, they turn yellow – as a consequence, caries may appear. Progenia leads to inflammation and serious periodontitis – an untreated problem can, unfortunately, even lead to tooth loss. The muscles of the face and neck are overloaded – the symptoms of such a condition are mainly hearing disorders, imbalances, and troublesome headaches.

The first cause of malocclusion is often inappropriate feeding in childhood. Too late, mothers include other foods important for their child’s development, which need to be chewed and bitten, thus exercising the jaw and shaping the teeth. Other causes include nail biting, finger sucking, mouth breathing. These seemingly insignificant activities can lead to progenia. We also cannot forget that progenia, like other malocclusions and deformities of the jaw, is the result of a vitamin D deficiency.

How to protect yourself against malocclusion?

Progenia is a serious malocclusion that may seem insignificant at first. Over time, however, it can really make it difficult for us to live and function normally. It can also lead to really embarrassing troubles like losing teeth or changing the shape of the face. For this reason, it is worth taking care of your teeth from the earliest days. The key is, of course, proper oral hygiene, brushing your teeth every day with a suitable toothbrush, proper diet and avoiding nervous habits (finger sucking, nail biting). We should also take care of consuming products with vitamin D or its supplementation. Progenia is closely related to the deficiency of this vitamin.

Do you notice the first symptoms of progenia? Do not hesitate – there is nothing to be ashamed of. See a dentist or orthodontist as soon as possible. You will protect yourself from serious trouble.
