Procter & Gamble will support SOS Childrens Villages during a pandemic

SOS Children’s Villages is an international non-profit organization operating in 134 countries around the world. Its division has existed in Russia for 25 years. During this time, about a thousand abandoned children have found a new home, a loving family and hope for the future.

SOS Children’s Villages is a unique alternative to children’s homes. These are modern comfortable settlements for 10-15 houses, each of which is home to a family – a “professional” adoptive mother (or parents) and 5-7 children.

Today in Russia there are six such special villages: in Moscow (Tomilino), St. Petersburg (Pushkin), Orel (Lavrovo), Pskov, Vologda and Kandalaksha (Murmansk region).

Since 2015, the well-known company Procter & Gamble, which includes many household and cosmetic brands, has been one of the key partners of the charitable organization.

Over the past five years, P&G has donated over 73 million rubles to the needs of SOS Children’s Villages within the framework of the Perpetual Caring for Every Home charity program. These donations go to the psychological rehabilitation of children, support for SOS mothers, classes with tutors and speech therapists, medical assistance and payment of utility bills for family houses.

During the pandemic, the company decided to provide additional support to the organization.

Long ago, P&G launched fundraising for a charitable organization on the pgbonus.ru cashback platform. Since January 15, the company will additionally transfer 1% of the cashback received by people for purchases of P&G products to SOS Children’s Villages.

Over the past three months, 870 thousand rubles have been raised for a charitable purpose. P&G decided to increase the donation to 1,75 million rubles, transferring them to the increased needs of the organization resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition, the company provided children in need with computers so that they could continue their education remotely during quarantine.

“Taking care of those who need it has been our principle for more than 180 years of the company’s activity. Today we find ourselves in an unprecedented situation when everyone needs help, but some need it especially urgently. We continue to support SOS Children’s Villages in Russia so that 660 children left without parental care can go through the pandemic as painlessly as possible, ”says Sotirios Marinidis, head of P&G in Eastern Europe.

Procter & Gamble recently announced a second phase of its assistance to the organization through the “No Good Quarantine” program. Since April 20, customers have the opportunity to transfer 100% of their cashback from purchases of P&G goods in favor of Children’s Villages – SOS – but only when the amount exceeds 300 rubles. Such a mechanic should significantly increase the amount of consumer contribution to the maintenance of the life of a children’s charity.
