To prevent plantar warts, avoid walking barefoot in public places, especially in gyms and showers, as well as around swimming pools.

To avoid contagion

• Cover warts with a bandage during treatment.
• Wash your hands after touching the wart or small skins that come off.
• Avoid using the towels and washcloths of someone with a wart.
• Be careful not to reuse a file or pumice stone that was used to rub a wart.
• Do not scratch or bleed a wart.
