Preparation for MRI examination

  1. To perform an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), no special dietary restrictions are required, and taking daily medications is not excluded.

  2. You should wear loose clothing that does not have metal fasteners, rivets or buttons.

  3. Jewelry and watches should be left at home or in the changing room as they may distort the image or damage the scanner.

  4. Excluded are credit cards, hearing aids, pins, hair clips, metal zippers, removable dentures, pens, pocket knives, and glasses.

  5. A special device, a “panic button,” is placed in the patient’s hand so that he can give a signal if for any reason it is necessary to interrupt the study.

  6. Before the study begins, medical personnel leave the treatment room and observe patients through a special window between the rooms.
