Premature labor – Our doctor’s opinion

As part of its quality approach, Passeportsanté.net invites you to discover the opinion of a health professional. Dr Jacques Allard, general practitioner, gives you his opinion on the premature labor :

Premature labor can happen even if you don’t have any risk factors. If you have more than 6 contractions per minute that persist despite bed rest, if you also have loss of amniotic fluid or vaginal bleeding, do not hesitate to consult your doctor promptly.

Likewise, if you are worried about the possibility of being in preterm labor or if you are worried about other symptoms, see your doctor and don’t worry about mistaking yourself between a real and a fake labor. If it is a false alarm, everyone will be happy!

If you have risk factors for preterm labor or have already had one in previous pregnancies, ensure regular medical follow-up and discuss with your doctor the relevance of joint follow-up with a pregnancy specialist at risk.
