Let your food be your perfect medicine,
and your medicine will be your food.
Hippocrates
Nowadays, every day a person has to face a lot of unpleasant factors that negatively affect his health. The polluted environment of megacities, the busy rhythm of life and not always favorable conditions for timely food intake force their inhabitants to experience constant stress, which does not carry any benefits for the full and productive work of the human body. And as a result, many diseases associated with improper and untimely nutrition lead people to complete physical and, as a result, psychological exhaustion. When a person begins to have health problems, all the joy of his life, saturated with bright colors of life, like a majestic caravel filled with untold riches, breaks on underwater reefs that are not marked on the ocean map by anyone. But this is a problem not only for the inhabitants of megacities. Residents of other cities and towns are also susceptible to various kinds of diseases, due to many other reasons. But all people are united by a single desire to be healthy. And the first thing that needs to be done to improve the condition of your own body is to approach the choice of food products of natural origin with full responsibility to yourself.
Naturalness of origin
Of great importance for a rational diet is the use of plant-based products that have an optimal protein, fat and vitamin composition. The effectiveness of this particular way of promoting health and preventing a large group of diseases has been convincingly proven in the experience of many countries around the world.
These include unrefined vegetable edible oils obtained by cold pressing. They are very useful to introduce into your daily diet.
At the same time, they do not need to be consumed in liters: 1-2 tbsp. oils per day (in the morning on an empty stomach and at night before going to bed) can work real miracles! Note that each of the vegetable oils has its own unique effect on the human body. They are not just useful, but also very tasty and flavorful, and eating them in their pure form or as part of various dishes will undoubtedly give you great pleasure.
Natural edible vegetable oils are a real storehouse of vitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids and micro-and macronutrients that are useful for the human body, so their nutritional value is very high.
As a result of scientific research, it was shown what a huge role polyunsaturated fatty acids play in human life. Being physiologically active substances, they take an active part in metabolic processes, are growth factors, have an anti-sclerotic effect, participate in ensuring normal carbohydrate-fat metabolism, regulating redox processes, normalizing cholesterol metabolism, ensure the functioning of the immune system at an optimal level, actively participate in the synthesis of various hormones, preserving our youth, health and beauty for decades. The shell of any cell without unsaturated fatty acids will not form.
Three concepts in the composition of vegetable oil
Omega-9 fatty acids
Oleic acid reduces the total cholesterol level, while increasing the level of “good” cholesterol, promotes the production of antioxidants. Prevents atherosclerosis, thrombosis, aging. If the composition of vegetable oil includes a lot of oleic acid, then fat metabolism is activated (helps to lose weight), the barrier functions of the epidermis are restored, there is a more intensive retention of moisture in the skin. The oils are well absorbed into the skin and actively promote the penetration of other active components into its stratum corneum.
Vegetable oils that contain a lot of oleic acid are less oxidized, even at high temperatures they remain stable. Therefore, they can be used for frying, stewing and canning.
Omega-6 fatty acids
They are part of the cell membranes, regulate the level of different cholesterol in the blood. Treat multiple sclerosis, diabetes, arthritis, skin diseases, nervous diseases, protecting nerve fibers, cope with premenstrual syndrome, maintain smoothness and elasticity of the skin, the strength of nails and hair. With their lack in the body, the exchange of fat in the tissues is disrupted (then you will not be able to lose weight), the normal activity of the intercellular membranes. Also, a consequence of the lack of omega-6 are liver diseases, dermatitis, atherosclerosis of blood vessels, an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. The synthesis of other unsaturated fatty acids depends on the presence of linoleic acid. If it is not there, then their synthesis will stop. Interestingly, the consumption of carbohydrates increases the body’s need for foods containing unsaturated fatty acids.
Omega-3 fatty acids
Omega-3s are vital for the normal functioning of the brain and for the full development of the brain in children. With their help, there is an influx of energy necessary for the transmission of signals from cell to cell. Keeping your thinking abilities at a decent level and being able to store information in your memory and actively use your memory-all this is impossible without alpha-linolenic acid. Omega-3s also have protective and anti-inflammatory functions. They improve the functioning of the heart, eyes, lower cholesterol, affect the health of the joints. They are excellent antioxidants, improve the condition of eczema, asthma, allergies, depression and nervous disorders, diabetes, hyperactivity of children, arthrosis. Omega-3 acids also prevent the development of cancers, including breast cancer.
Omega-3 and omega-6 have one very important drawback — when fats are heated and interact with air, ultraviolet light, they are actively oxidized. Therefore, if the composition of vegetable oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6, you can not fry it on this oil, it should be stored in a dark, cool place in a closed, UV-protected container.
The adult human body can only synthesize omega-9 itself, and omega-3 and omega-6 can only come with food. Since it is not very easy to balance the intake of essential fatty acids, the best solution is variety. Do not stop at one oil, try others!
