National Hospitality Awards 2015

The gala celebrating the ninth edition of the National Hospitality Awards will be held tomorrow in Valencia

The main actors and places awarded this year with the prestigious National Hospitality Awards, will meet on November 24 on the shores of the Mediterranean, more specifically at the Palacio de Congresos de Valencia, to attend the gala organized by the Spanish Federation of Hospitality (FEHR) in collaboration with the Federation of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of Valencia (FEHV). 

The different recognitions that are awarded refer to the activity of companies, restaurants and other establishments Horeca, as well as the people who make hospitality work a reality.

Aspects such as innovation, social responsibility, commitment or the constant search for quality, are the examples and values ​​that the organization put in value to designate its candidates and winners.

This year it will be in the city of Valencia, picking up the witness of the previous hosts of said gala that since the first edition in Valladolid, has already traveled many Spanish capitals, full of culture and gastronomy such as Bilbao, Seville, Oviedo and Zaragoza.

The categories and winners of the 2015 national hospitality awards

  • Hotel Entrepreneur: Isidre Gironès (Barcelona) of the restaurant Ca l’Isidre.
  • Hospitality Company: The Veleta Route (Granada) from Sierra Nevada with Illusion, passion and art.
  • Company of Spanish Origin in the World: White cross (Madrid) from Vallecas to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
  • Company committed to Social Responsibility: Sande Tower and Arguijuela Castle (Cáceres) by Consuelo Villalba and César Ráez.
  • Company committed to Disability: In Le Noir (Barcelona) Sensory experience eating without light where 10% of the profits go to associations for the blind and child protection.
  • Outstanding company with technological innovation: Cinco Sentidos y Piñera Restaurant (Madrid) Iñigo Arozarena and Jesús Almagro respectively.
  • Company committed to Quality: The Cigarral de las Mercedes (Toledo), Celebrations, Tourism and gastronomy.
  • Company committed to Culture: Brisamar Betxi Group (Castellón), from Brisamar music and gastronomy as ingredients for more than 50 years.
  • Company committed to Environmental Responsibility: Not even Lo Blanch (Valencia), Los Belloch from medieval times, left an impression of the way of making horchata, and today they continue to maintain production under the values ​​of respect for the environment and sustainability. 
  • Prize “José Luis Fernández Noriega”: A Mariano Gómez Fernández (Vizcaya), as Councilor of the Bilbao City Council and member of the Board of Trustees of the Artxanda Higher School of Hospitality (ESAH) for his support to improve sanitary conditions in establishments in the sector and especially in the campaign “Encesta que no cost”.

At the same time that the awards are given to the aforementioned companies, the organization, each year wants to raise to mention a series of recognitions to people, institutions and brands that make this amalgam of national gastronomy possible, and that either because of their dedication, their trade or for standing out in some facet for years, they want to have them in that particular “hall” of fame of the National Gastronomy.

This year the awards for each category have gone to: ç

  • Recognized company: A Campofrío, for his collaboration with the hospitality sector, in addition to his ability to dream about the future and values.
  • Recognized Entity: Al Valencia City Hall for his commitment to the hospitality industry, and his unconditional support for Valencian Gastronomy.
  • Recognized individual person: A Lucio Blazquez of Casa Lucio. 40 years as “El Rey Innkeeper”.
  • Recognized communication medium: The EFE Agency, for its support to the restoration and tourism, offering information and supporting the business work in HORECA.
  • Recognized Association Officers: To the Presidents of OTEA, José Luis Álvarez Almeida, President of Hospitality of Asturias, Ricardo Álvarez, President of Hospitality of Gijón and Fernando Corral, President of Unión Hotelera de Asturias.
  • Recognized Association Professional : Javier Peña Catalán, Hiuesca Hospitality Secretary-Manager, for his career.
  • Recognized Centennial Restaurant: The Botín Restaurant (Madrid), as the world dean of restaurants with the Guinness of the oldest place on the planet.
  • Recognized Hospitality School: To the CDT’s Tourist Centers of Valencia, for his formative trajectory with more than two decades of teachings.
