Teachers, psychologists and education officials from all over the country gathered in the Moscow region. The IV All-Russian Congress of Preschool Education Workers is being held in the city of Krasnogorsk.
One of the topics for discussion raised at the congress is the fact that today’s children began to ask much fewer questions than their parents asked at the time.
Psychologists explain: the whole point is that children are simply drowning in the information sea. Previously, a child had to ask in order to get an answer to a question of interest. And now streams of various kinds of information are falling on him from all sides. The consequence is that the child’s cognitive activity drops to almost zero.
Moreover, the parents themselves contribute to a decrease in curiosity. Often you have to deal with such a phenomenon when the child is busy from morning until the end of the day – school, circles, sections, additional classes, tutors. All this leaves no time for either a good rest or socializing with friends. As a result, parents, by forcing the pace of development of intelligence in children, kill their curiosity.
– Children definitely need to play. This is their most important way to know the world and learn. Moreover, you need to play not on a computer, but in “live” games that require communication. Most electronic games are still designed for one person. Try to revisit your baby’s daily routine so that he has time to hang out with friends. Intellectual development is, of course, good. But you shouldn’t forget about socialization either, – advises psychologist Tatiana Klimkovich.
