Previously, dishes for vegetarians were the lot of small establishments; later, such offers were side by side with the usual menu and in fairly large chain cafes and restaurants. And now the demand for vegetarian food is so great that it made the largest players in the catering market think about what to offer to an audience that does not accept meat.
For example, Burger King has already released the Impossible Whopper burger with artificial meat. It consists of a vegetable protein cutlet, tomatoes, mayonnaise and ketchup, lettuce, pickles and white onions.
Most likely, a vegetarian menu will appear at McDonald’s soon. In any case, the public is not what it wants but demands.
In the US, more than 160 people have signed a petition asking McDonald’s for a vegetarian menu.
McDonald’s doesn’t have a vegetarian burger in the United States. However, since December last year, the company’s menu has added the McVegan soy burger in Finland, McFalafel in Sweden and the vegetarian Happy Meal. Also in March, McDonald’s began testing meat-free nuggets.
“I hope to bring positive change to America with the meat-free menu at McDonald’s. A healthy lifestyle should be about progress, not perfection, and this is a simple step that McDonald’s can take, ”wrote the petitioner, activist Katie Freston.
