Malaria: Our doctor’s opinion
As part of its quality approach, Passeportsanté.net invites you to discover the opinion of a health professional. Dr Jacques Allard, general practitioner, gives you his opinion on the malaria :
Malaria (malaria) is a disease that is usually treated very well, but is always very trying and can sometimes be fatal. It is therefore preferable to prevent it. If you plan to travel to a country where malaria is endemic, first consult your doctor or a Voyageur Clinic (in Quebec) to obtain a prescription for an antimalarial drug for prevention. In addition, if you have a high fever and chills during your stay abroad or even several months after your return, see a doctor quickly because the complications can be very serious.
