Make-up foundation. Video
Not everyone knows how to choose the right foundation. How it is chosen and applied depends on how flawless the makeup will turn out. An even tone and excellent complexion can be obtained if the foundation is invisible on the skin, hides its imperfections, and also matches the type and shade.
We select a foundation by skin type
To achieve a flawless facial relief, you need to choose the right concealer for your skin type.
Foundation for combination to oily skin
Foundation products for combination and oily skin should contain absorbents, as well as sebum-regulating components – vitamins of group A, B, zinc, sulfur. These substances will normalize the secretion of sebum, eliminate the oily sheen on the skin, without overdrying it. For oily skin, you should not choose creams of dense texture, because they will create a mask effect. It is better to give preference to cream powder, light matting emulsions.
For local (point) correction of skin problems, a tonal concealer is suitable
Foundation for dry skin
Dry skin requires additional hydration at any time of the year. This is especially important in the summer. For this type of skin, it is recommended to choose tonal products containing active moisturizing ingredients that will retain moisture in the dermis: hyaluronic acid, aloe. The oils that are part of the cream – coconut, avocado, grape seeds, nourish the skin with proteins and vitamins, make it velvety and elastic.
For dry skin, so-called BB creams are also suitable. They take care of the skin, make it smooth, nourish, moisturize, and protect against UV radiation. The water-gel base of such creams lays on the skin with an imperceptible light layer that eliminates peeling and dryness, and the active ingredients – plant extracts, glycerin – retain moisture inside the dermis. There are not too many shades of BB creams, usually natural beige, light and very light. Thanks to this feature, this cream can be used as a makeup base in combination with a foundation.
Foundation for mature skin
For aging skin, look for foundation with a lifting effect. They contain moisturizers, as well as antioxidants – vitamins, coenzyme Q10. They not only mask the signs of aging, but also moisturize the skin and protect it from negative environmental factors. Such creams even out the surface of the epidermis, increase the synthesis of collagen in cells. At the same time, the relief of the face is improved, all irregularities and inflammations of the skin, as well as fine wrinkles, are eliminated.
We select a foundation by color
When choosing a shade of foundation, several nuances must be taken into account.
Color of the skin
Depending on the skin tone, you need to choose the right foundation color, which will give it a healthy look and freshness. If your skin is pinkish, choose a beige tone and avoid pinkish; yellowish tone – the best choice would be a beige-pink shade. Dark skin goes well with beige-apricot and dark-beige colors.
How the shade looks on the skin
When buying, be sure to test the foundation. To do this, apply a small amount of the cream to the lower part of the cheekbone. When applied, it should blend in with your skin tone without creating a border or standing out.
Lighting
For daylight, mattifying cream textures and natural shades are best. Creamy powder and foundation with shimmery particles are preferably used under artificial lighting in the evening. Before applying foundation, examine your face in bright enough daylight. Use lighter shades to eliminate signs of tired skin. Darker shades of toner are best to remove unevenness and smoothen the face.
How to apply foundation correctly
Foundation can be applied in different ways, depending on its texture. For example, liquid and cream products are applied with a sponge, brush, or fingertips, while sticks and mousses are applied exclusively with fingertips. For a photo shoot or evening make-up, apply a thick layer of foundation using a brush or sponge. Blend the foundation evenly over your face using your fingertips.
For a lighter coverage, apply a little foundation on the cheekbones, forehead, chin, and then gently distribute from the center of the face to the periphery until an even tone is obtained, moving from top to bottom. Remove excess product by blotting it with a napkin.
