Homeopathy is an alternative medical philosophy and practice based on the idea of the body’s ability to heal itself. Homeopathy was discovered in the late 1700s in Germany and is now widely used in Europe and India. The principle of treatment is based on the fact that “Like attracts like”, or, as the people say, “Knock out a wedge with a wedge.”
This principle means that a substance that in a healthy body causes a certain painful symptom, taken in a small dose, cures this disease. In a homeopathic preparation (presented, as a rule, in the form of granules or liquid) contains only an extremely small dose of the active substance, which are minerals or plants. Historically, people have resorted to homeopathy to maintain health as well as treat a wide range of chronic conditions such as allergies, dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and irritable bowel syndrome. This medicine has found its application in minor injuries, muscle deformities and sprains. In fact, homeopathy is not aimed at eliminating any one disease or symptom, on the contrary, it heals the entire body as a whole. A homeopathic consultation is an interview lasting 1-1,5 hours, in which the doctor asks the patient a long list of questions, identifying physical, mental and emotional symptoms. The reception is aimed at determining the individual reaction of the body (painful symptom) to disharmony in the vital force. The physical, mental and emotional symptoms of illness, individual to each individual, are recognized as an attempt by the body to restore the disturbed balance. The appearance of symptoms indicates that the restoration of balance with the internal resources of the body is difficult and it needs help. There are over 2500 homeopathic remedies. They are obtained through a unique, carefully controlled process called “breeding”. This method does not form toxins, which makes homeopathic medicines safe and without side effects (when used correctly!). In conclusion, it should be said that homeopathy cannot replace the effect of a healthy lifestyle, they must go together. After all, the main companions of health have been and remain proper nutrition, exercise, a sufficient amount of rest and sleep, positive emotions, including creativity and compassion.
