The formation of any type of gear requires the presence of a leash, anglers with experience know that this element is very important. The leash for bream is used without fail, but the length and the best material for it must be chosen independently, taking into account many nuances.
Why do we need
A cunning inhabitant of the water area is caught in different ways, it is important to use enough bait, a good hook, and choose the right fishing spot depending on the season. Anglers with experience pay special attention to the leash, which is what surprises beginners. Why is it needed and what are its functions?
This component of gear should be on almost any type, and it doesn’t matter if they catch a predator or peaceful fish. This element helps:
- when hooking, avoid the loss of all gear;
- make a more delicate snap, not scaring off potential prey.
It is made of various materials, and there are home-made options, and there are also factory ones.
Of what do
A leash on a feeder for a bream or other type of tackle can be supplied factory-made or made independently. More experienced anglers recommend the second option, as it is known exactly what quality of line it is made of. A variety of materials can serve as the basis, a little thinner in diameter from the central fishing line.
material | diameter |
fluorocarbon | from 0,12 mm in winter to 0,3 mm in autumn |
braided cord | 0,06-0,12 mm |
monofilament line | 0-16mm |
Lead material for bream does not exist as such, it is completely replaced by the above analogues.
Necessary accessories for DIY
In order to independently build one high-quality material is not enough, you will additionally need something else. The correct option should be:
- basis;
- hook;
- small clasp.
For work, you may need fishing scissors to cut off excess.
Using a fastener on a leash and a rig-based swivel will help you quickly replace the component if necessary. Indeed, on the reservoir there is not always time to tie spare elements with knots.
Dealing with length
It is impossible to specify the optimal length on a leash on a feeder for catching bream. It all comes down to personal preference rather than other factors. Some prefer to fish with 20 cm and consider them the most successful, for others, at least 50 cm long is a priority.
It is recommended for beginners to pre-impose a few pieces from home, and all of them are of different lengths. On the pond, it is better to change them periodically, choosing the most convenient for yourself.
Feeder
Feeder equipment provides for the use of a feeder, after which these elements of equipment are located as an end point. Installation is done both from one and from several pieces, and they can be arranged in different ways, including in front of the cormack.
Most often you can see:
- feeder tackle with one element located directly behind the feeder;
- a tackle with two is mounted with a rocker arm attached immediately behind the feeder, one leaves from each outlet;
- installation for three or more is performed differently, they are located both before the feeder on the basis and after it.
Other types are used extremely rarely, they are not so convenient when playing and casting.
Poplavochka
Installation of this type of tackle is simple, there are only two options. The first is done on one leash, which is knitted directly to the base, it is possible to fasten it through a swivel with a clasp. The second is performed using a rocker, which allows you to use two leashes at once.
Donka
Tackle with rubber as a shock absorber allows you to use several leashes at once, usually they are put 4, but there are options with 6. They are usually knitted from a fishing line, less often from a cord, and this will not affect the catchability in any way.
In this case, the length of the leash for the bream should be small, 20-25 cm is enough. Longer ones will get confused when casting, catch grass when playing a trophy, thereby preventing it from being pulled ashore.
Often bream is caught in the current on a diversion leash, this installation involves the use of longer options. Shorties will not give the opportunity to catch the chosen place properly, the fish may not react at all to the proposed delicacy using this equipment.
The leash for tackle on a bream can be very different, there are no clearly indicated sizes. Each angler chooses for himself the optimal one in terms of length, material, and diameter.
