Biography of Andron Konchalovsky

The future master of Russian cinema was born on August 20, 1937 in the Mikhalkov family. At birth, he was named Andrei, but later the young director began to call himself Andron. Therefore, many call him Andron.

Family

The Mikhalkovs were famous creative personalities. For example, Andrey’s great-grandfather was the great painter Vasily Ivanovich Surikov.

Grandfather – artist Pyotr Petrovich Konchalovsky – academician of the USSR Academy of Arts, laureate of the Stalin Prize. He was one of the founders of the “Jack of Diamonds” association and its chairman. He painted almost two thousand canvases that can be seen in art galleries around the world. His wife was the daughter of Vasily Surikov, Olga.

Father – Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov was a war correspondent, poet, playwright, screenwriter, public figure, wrote fables and stories for children. He is the author of the anthems of the USSR and Russia.

Mother – Natalya Petrovna Konchalovskaya – writer, poet and translator.

The family already had a daughter, Catherine, from Natalia’s first marriage. Subsequently, she will marry the writer Yu. Semenov. In 1945, another son, Nikita, will be born, who will also become a bright star in the world of the film industry.

Foreign directors were surprised that the two popular directors were siblings. Konchalovsky usually replied that they were bound by brotherly love. But it is not difficult to notice that he refers to Nikita Sergeevich from the height of a certain “brutality”.

Simultaneously with high school, the boy studied at the music school. Then he passed the exams at the music school at the conservatory with excellent marks. But soon the young man realized that he did not want to pursue a career as a musician and entered the VGIK at the faculty of directing, graduating in 1964.

The film The Boy and the Dove, created at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, received the Bronze Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

In 1967 the film “The Story of Asya Klyachina …” was created. The actors were all beginners, but the “real life” show was censored and banned. Lay on the shelf for two decades.

In 1980 Andron Konchalovsky moved to the USA. Hollywood greeted the director unfriendly, who, despite this, made several films that brought various film awards. In 1989 the action movie “Tango and Cash” was filmed, with S. Stallone and C. Russell in the lead roles.

The personal life of the eminent director is also bright and stormy. He was officially married five times.

First marriage

The first wife is the ballerina Irina Kandat. The marriage lasted two years (1957-1959).

A stormy romance in his student years was with Zh. Bolotova, and then with M. Vertinskaya, but he did not think of tying the knot yet.

Second marriage

Natalia Arinbasarova, whom the director met when filming the film “The First Teacher”, made me think about marriage. In 1966, the son Yegor was born, who will continue the director’s dynasty.

The idyll lasted five years until the director met E. Koreneva. He even moved in with her, and after 3 years he returned to his wife.

Then the heart of Andrei Sergeevich was won by the actress from Poland, the beauty Beata Tyszkiewicz.

However, the “first wedge” in family life was the infatuation with Masha Meril, the heroine of the movie “Charming Liar”. Masha was from a Russian noble family who emigrated to France. The lovers, if possible, met in different countries.

Once in Prague, the director gave her 6 postcards, and asked him to send one once a month so that he knew that her feelings for him had not faded away. Having received the 4th postcard, Andron told his wife about the betrayal. And three days later, the 5th came, where it was reported that Masha was getting married.

Merrill did not know Russian, and Andrei did not know French perfectly. He considered it a message of love and did not think about the translation. He did not understand that the text said that Masha was pregnant and expected a quick response.

Not receiving an answer at the time, she had an abortion and married a longtime admirer. Unfortunately, she lost the opportunity to experience the happiness of motherhood. And I. Kupchenko has already appeared in the fate of the director. The affair did not last long, but a divorce from Arinbasarova followed.

Third wife

The third wife in 1969 was the Frenchwoman Vivian Godet, she gave birth to a daughter, Sasha. But such a gifted creative person as Konchalovsky is not distinguished by constancy and he has more and more novels – L. Ullman and S. MacLane, N. Andreichenko, K. Harris – the list is impressive.

Fourth wife

The fourth wife in 1987 was the television announcer Irina Martynova, who gave her husband two daughters, Elena and Natalia.

Konchalovsky is changeable and amorous, but breaks off relations with dignity and without conflict. He breaks hearts but does not turn his back on his children. He recently recognized his daughter Daria from actress Irina Brazgovka, who hid it for 17 years.

Yulia Vysotskaya became the fifth wife in 1998. Despite the age difference of 36 years and the love of the famous director, their marriage is called exemplary. Julia gave birth to a daughter, Mary, and a son, Peter. The director has eight grandchildren and granddaughters.

In the fall of 2013, a tragedy struck. In an accident in France, the 14-year-old daughter Masha was injured, who did not fasten her seat belt. Only six months later, the parents could hope for her recovery. In the spring of 2015, she was able to breathe on her own. But the rehabilitation is not over yet.

The family couple demonstrates to everyone that the feelings between them have not cooled down. In January 2018, their wedding took place in Pskov.

Konchalovsky is sympathetic to the proposals of his beloved wife. In 2017, the opening of grocery stores that are part of the Eat Like Home! Network took place, organized by Yulia. The project has become an alternative to foreign fast food. And he himself took up a project dedicated to the genius of the Renaissance Michelangelo.

The film “Sin” tells about the creation of his most famous masterpieces: the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel and the sculpture of David. According to the director, this will not be a retelling of the biography of the great master. The shooting took place in Florence, with local residents and Italian artists taking an active part.

The role of Michelangelo was played by the dentist Alberto Testone. Filming took place in Rome, Tuscany and Carrara. In the fall of 2018, the film was shown in the Kremlin.
