The famous “boats” with an egg in the middle – Adjarian khachapuri – are a real classic of Georgian cuisine, its trademark. To taste this dish, the Wday.ru website and the Telesem magazine invited their partners to the Shafran restaurant, where the Khachapuri Festival is taking place these days.
The restaurant’s menu has as many as ten (!) Types of Adjarian khachapuri. How did this become possible? The restaurant took the classics as a basis, added innovative elements to it and created several author’s variations on the theme. It turned out ten different dishes to taste, including the classic khachapuri with an egg – khachapuri with spinach, khachapuri with tomatoes, khachapuri with mushrooms, khachapuri with baked pepper, khachapuri with chicken, khachapuri with beef, khachapuri with lamb and even green khachapuri sweet – khachapuri with cottage cheese and cherries.
In a word, now everyone can find the perfect khachapuri!
During the tasting, it was suggested to try all the Adjarian khachapuri options presented in the restaurant’s menu. The task seemed simple and easy only at first! It would seem, cut off and eat. But! With each new khachapuri that appeared on the table, it became more and more difficult – large portions, a hearty dish, and the aroma is such that it is impossible to resist! We ate everything, and even ordered to take away. All the guests of the tasting wanted their families to try these delicious variations on the theme of Adjarian khachapuri. In addition, Shafran offers a twenty percent discount when ordering to go.
The participants of the tasting could also express their opinion on the tasted khachapuri. Before the start, everyone was given blanks with a list of dishes, each had to be evaluated on a ten-point scale and wrote his comments.
The leaders according to the results of tasting were the classic Adjarian khachapuri with egg, khachapuri with spinach, khachapuri with baked pepper, khachapuri with lamb, khachapuri with cherry.
